Lisbon-based cartoonist and illustrator Alireza Karimi Moghaddam fell in love with Van Gogh's life stories and paintings as a teenager. He watched a lot of books and movies about Van Gogh, and he immersed himself in the love of his life. Below is his life in illustration, painting van Gogh.
Vincent William van Gogh (30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a Dutch post-impressionist painter. Born into a family of Protestant priests in Zindert, a Dutch village, Van Gogh spent his early years as a clerk and trading broker, as well as a missionary in the mines, and finally devoted himself to painting. Van Gogh fell ill with insanity (epilepsy), but he continued to paint when he was conscious. In July 1890, Vincent van Gogh shot himself in insanity at the age of 37.
Van Gogh's life was full of ups and downs, Van Gogh was not welcomed by his parents since birth, and he seemed to be a transparent presence in the home. The indifference of his parents made Van Gogh more and more withdrawn and autistic.
Most fortunately, he had a confidant brother who provided Van Gogh with a better material foundation, and to Van Gogh's dismay, he had only sold one painting in ten years.
He was worried that he would become a drag on his brother, and in the midst of guilt and self-blame and the strange eyes of the people around him, Van Gogh often broke himself, and he once cut off his ears because of conflicts with Gauguin.
Van Gogh's life was very lonely, he never confided in people, the loneliness of the soul is the real helplessness, at that time many people said that Van Gogh was a neurosis.
There is a saying that geniuses are crazy, Van Gogh only began to paint at the age of 27, and he only picked up the brush to paint and paint day and night, regardless of occasion. According to the daughter of the Ural Hotel, Van Gogh was like a madman, often painting selflessly in the rain.
Van Gogh had a high passion for farmers, for field life, for rural field scenery, and he loved everything about farmers, especially sunflowers, wheat fields, warblers, pea flowers, etc. He often chose these objects that exuded the fragrance of earth as the subject of his paintings.
Van Gogh had 864 paintings, 1,037 drawings, and 150 watercolors in his lifetime, and his watercolors were outstanding, and Van Gogh's works were full of natural compassion and a sense of suffering, which was very similar to his life.
