On the afternoon of July 6, the leaders of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Congress, the Provincial Federation of Literature and Literature, party members, cadres, and workers, as well as veterans of the New Fourth Army, the families of heroic martyrs, and people from all walks of life held a ceremony to inaugurate the sculpture of "Heroic Martyrs of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression" in Wulin Square to jointly commemorate the 81st anniversary of the "July 7 Incident" and carry forward the spirit of patriotism.

On July 7, 81 years ago, the "Lugou Bridge Incident" broke out, Japan began to invade China in an all-round way, the Chinese nation entered the stage of all-round war of resistance, and countless heroic martyrs went forward to save the nation from peril, realize national independence, and safeguard world peace and international fairness and justice, sacrificed their lives for righteousness, and finally won a great victory. In order to commemorate the heroic martyrs, in September 2014, with the approval of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, Announcement No. 327 of the Ministry of Civil Affairs published the first list of 300 famous anti-Japanese heroes and heroes who fought tenaciously in the War of Resistance Against Japan and sacrificed their lives for the country. In this list of heroes, there are 12 martyrs from Zhejiang. They were: Zhu Yanhui (1901-1938), Xie Shengbiao (1903-1938), Wang Yujiu (1902-1939), Chen Anbao (1891-1939), Mao Liying (1910-1939), Ren Guang (1900-1941), He Yun (1905-1942), Lin Xinping (1919-1942), Zhu Cheng (1901-1943), Lei Ye (1917-1943), Lü Gongliang (1903-1944), Yu Dafu (1896-1945). In 2014, the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Federation of Literature and Literature launched the "Centennial Pursuit of Dreams" Zhejiang Fine Art Creation Project. After more than three years of meticulous creation, 30 works of art reflecting the modern and contemporary historical figures and major events in Zhejiang from 1840 to 1949, including "Heroic Martyrs of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression - 12 Heroic Martyrs of Zhejiang in the List of Famous Anti-Japanese Heroes and Heroic Groups (Sculptures)", were unveiled at the Zhejiang Exhibition Hall. In order to let more people remember the heroic martyrs and remember the history, the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Literature and Literature, the Zhejiang Provincial Artists Association, and the Zhejiang Exhibition Hall jointly enlarged and produced the sculpture works of the "Heroic Martyrs of the War of Resistance" and permanently set up the flower beds at the east gate of the Zhejiang Exhibition Hall, a landmark building in Hangzhou, for the broad masses of the people to admire and remember.

Lai Yingjie, executive deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial CPC Committee; Jin Xingsheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress and director of the Education, Science, Culture, and Public Health Commission; Li Yunlin and Mei Xinlin, members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress and deputy directors of the Education, Science, Culture, and Public Health Commission; Tian Yuyuan, secretary of the party leading group, vice chairman, and executive secretary of the Secretariat of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles; Xu Jiang, vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, chairman of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, chairman of the Provincial Association of Artists, and president of the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts; Song Guangbao, executive vice president of the Provincial New Fourth Army Historical Research Association; Xu Xiao, member of the party group and secretary of the Secretariat of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles; Lu Jian and Hao Longqing, veteran soldiers of the New Fourth Army. He Jingsheng, daughter of He Kexi, former commander of the New Fourth Army in eastern Zhejiang, and Lü Heyu, daughter of Lü Gongliang, a martyr of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, attended the inauguration ceremony.

At the scene of the event, Luo Xianyue, vice chairman and secretary general of the Provincial Artists Association, introduced the relevant situation of the "Century-old Dream Chasing" Zhejiang Fine Arts Creation Project, the author Zhai Qingxi introduced the relevant situation of the creation of the works, the leaders and guests unveiled the sculpture, and the party branch of the Provincial People's Congress Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee, the Party Committee of the Provincial Federation of Literature and Literature, and the Party Members of the General Branch of the Provincial Cultural Hall (Zhejiang Exhibition Hall) presented flowers to the "Heroes of the War of Resistance".
