On December 22, Wei Lizhong (fourth from right), a representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage and director of the Hangzhou Shizhuzhai Art Museum, introduced the woodblock watermark works to the guests at the "Woodblock Watermark" Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum located on Gaoyin Street in Hangzhou.
On the same day, the new "woodblock watermark" intangible cultural heritage museum of Hangzhou Shizhuzhai was unveiled, which was the first time that the woodblock watermark art museum relied on the "Hundred Houses Pavilion" project to enter the lobby of the chain hotel.
The "100 Pavilions" project is jointly launched by the cultural department, the inheritors of national intangible cultural heritage and the hotel chain, through the transformation of the hotel lobby into a different style of intangible cultural heritage display platform, to create a "24-hour non-closing" characteristic art museum, to display excellent intangible cultural heritage culture and skills to more tourists and citizens, spread and carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
The professional scientific name of "woodblock watermark" is "Ancient Color Print printing", which is a traditional process for high-fidelity reproduction of Chinese calligraphy and painting masterpieces. This technique was developed in the Ming Dynasty's invention of the plate and arch flower technology. The production process of "woodblock watermark" is divided into four steps: one is sketching, the second is stereotyping, the third is watermarking, and the fourth is mounting. In 2014, the watermarking technique of shizhuzhai woodblock was selected into the fourth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative project list.
