Many mothers often ask me backstage, "How do I teach my children to draw?" ”
To be honest, I have neither talent nor training in drawing. Draw a tree, you will only think of three triangles + a vertical, draw a house, you will only draw a house composed of triangles + squares.
Therefore, when Ogawa was still young, I also had a thousand and one questions about how to teach my children to draw, like many sisters.
Do you want to send a painting interest class? If he doesn't teach a child to draw, how can he draw? Does learning to draw early really destroy a child's creativity?
With these questions, at that time, I also held the spirit of breaking the casserole to ask the end, asked a lot of friends engaged in art education, and also found relevant relief book research, and finally released the puzzle.
Combined with the experience of Ogawa learning to paint for more than two years, I will share it with you.
Many times, we unconsciously fall into a misunderstanding: children do not draw like, they think that children can not draw.
We habitually use adult thinking to judge children's paintings, thinking that this is not good, that is not good, in fact, it is not that children can not draw, but we mistakenly use adult standards to evaluate.
In the enlightenment stage, the child has not yet mastered the language of words, and painting is only a way for children to express their ideas, so there is no need to ask children to "draw like".
Although every child has an innate ability to draw, the growth of this ability has its own rhythm of development:
● 1 year old: It is not so much a painting as the movement of the hand. "Graffiti" is a very interesting thing for children in this period, the hand holding the pen is waving and leaving a mark on the paper, the child will be happy to "ah-ah" call, this fun will become the driving force for children to love drawing.
They would leave dots on the paper, small tadpoles, small earthworms and the like.
● 1.5 years old: Doodles on the left and right of the elbow as the axis
● 1.5-2 years old: large continuous circle to small continuous circle
● 2 years old: With the development of children's hand-eye coordination skills, they begin to draw individual lines and closed circles, and the awareness of what they want to draw begins to sprout.
At the same time, children begin to learn to explain what they draw. The more children have rich impressions of various things in their minds, the more capable they are to imagine a circle as various things.
● 3 years old: Decide what to draw before drawing, and draw with purpose.
● 3.5 years old: Love puts herself in a sitcom and tells her story with many circles.
3 years old small rolls My mother made me pudding and plates
Around the age of three, the image of the "head portrait" with dots and horizontal lines painted on the circle began to appear in the child's painting, and the child gave various meanings to the points and lines, and the ability to represent was further developed.
● 4 years old: Draw hands and feet on the basis of painting the head to form a portrait of the head and feet. Tend to paint the things that impress you the most.
● 5 years old: Draw what you are interested in according to your own understanding. He gradually became interested in the relationships between things and tried to express these relationships in painting, the most obvious feature of which was the use of the base line in painting.
● 6 years old: Use the baseline as an expression to establish the order of things. I began to learn to paint patterns and ornaments and "perspective painting" (I also carefully draw things that I can't see in the room or in the soil), which is a feeling realism tendency.
● 7-8 years old: around 7, start to draw portraits from three angles: front, side, and back, and then around the age of eight, children will start to draw portraits of people with movements.
● 9 years old: Finally began to use the same way of observation as adults, and the painting method began to change to a realistic approach. When it comes to painting, nine years old is a child's first step towards adulthood.
From the age of 9, children begin to draw according to what they see with their own eyes, and children's paintings begin to have a tendency to become adult paintings, which we call "visual realism".
During this period, children's ability to observe realism developed rapidly, but the development of imagination and image memory ability gradually slowed down, and it was no longer suitable for learning pure children's painting, and they could gradually contact the training of professional skills such as drawing and color. You can explore, improve and deepen your child's achievements in painting by being exposed to a variety of different painting styles.
When we understand the rhythm of the child's own drawing, we will not be so anxious.
● Don't teach your child to draw "images"
Painting is a way of expression for children, if we teach children to draw "images", in a sense, it is to present our feelings to children intact, and children cannot express themselves according to their own feelings and wishes.
Over time, they will not see with their own eyes, will not speak in their own words, cannot summarize their own ideas, even if the technique is skilled, even if they are painted again, it is useless, because that kind of work has no vitality.
● Don't point when your child draws, and "listen" to the drawing after learning to draw
When children draw, if we point or intervene next to them, it will hinder children from drawing, so do not point or evaluate them from the eyes of adults.
Regardless of whether the child draws well or not, we must first listen to what the child thinks of expressing in the painting and understand their painting.
However, although it is said that "painting is for listening", we should not be too enthusiastic in the process of children's creation and constantly ask children.
It is better to listen to your child's drawings when he is finished, or when he is a little bored with drawing.
At the age of 2-3, ask your child "what is this" and listen to what he gives to what he draws. After the age of 4, you can ask your child "what they are doing" and listen to the stories in his paintings.
● Do not draw coloring books and stick figures for children until the age of 6
There are many coloring books and stick figures on the market, and many children are very fond of playing. However, it is not recommended to buy it for children to play before the age of 6.
Because, the color painting is not the child's own creation of the work, but to paint the pattern of adults, is a formal work, can not represent any of the child's own ideas, and in the enlightenment stage, the child's painting should be more in the expression of their own experience and feelings.
Children are not able to color the details until they are five or six years old. Before that, having children practice drawing contours, coloring, and practicing drawing techniques doesn't make any sense, but will limit their imagination and creativity.
● Don't be afraid that your child will get dirty
When we see children scribbling on the walls, or seeing children make their clothes dirty when they draw, we often reprimand children because hygiene is too difficult to get.
But the child does not actually intend to destroy, because he is full of curiosity about the world, and he will instinctively paint.
If we stop our children's graffiti because they are difficult to clean, they will deprive them of their heartfelt joy!
Therefore, when we see some of the "destructive" creative behaviors of children, we may as well be tolerant and think: "Dirty, it's okay!" ”。
On the other hand, in order to save a little effort when cleaning, we can put on a protective clothing for the child, provide safe materials, paste wall film or blackboard wall on the wall, etc., and let the child create.
4. Children like to draw, can I send my child to a painting class?
Torii Akimi clearly mentioned in "Raising Children to Start with Painting" that before the age of 9, it is enough for us to prepare the venue and materials for children to draw, and then invite some children to draw together.
If you want to send your child to a painting class, then choose a painting class that can provide children with various tools to paint, let children feel different painting forms and painting materials, choose a painting class that cultivates children's free imagination, and choose a painting class that can ensure that children and children can play painting games together.
When Ogawa was just 3 years old, I also followed the above criteria and inspected a lot, and chose a suitable painting interest class for him.
Indeed, for a long time, from a professional point of view, it was really impossible to see Ogawa's unique talent and amazing progress in painting. However, I still insisted on sending him to class every week.
Because, he is free and happy, enjoying the process of painting. Every time he went to class, Ogawa went happily and returned satisfied. At home, he often wrote and painted quietly alone.
No matter how he painted, I would not criticize him or even try to correct him, always patiently listening to him introduce his paintings, telling the stories in them, and then trying to find any small progress in any of them, firmly praising him and encouraging him.
In addition, before the age of 9, the training of techniques is really not important, if the painting class always tells the child that "this place should be painted like this" and pursues "achievementism", it is best not to send the child.
9 years old. Because children after the age of 9, the ability to observe realism develops rapidly, but the development of imagination and image memory ability gradually slows down, and it is no longer suitable for learning pure children's painting.
If children have a strong interest in drawing in the early stages, they will be very happy to learn various painting techniques and want to draw more likely.
It took a lot of time to put this article out, before the confusion, I can also be considered to have completely understood, but I don't know dear, there is wood to get to what you want to understand.
About painting, if the above is not enough to explain the puzzle, leave me a message Ha, I try my best to understand and then tell you ~^_^.
Picasso once said: "I can paint like a master in a short time, but I have to spend my whole life learning to paint like a child." ”
As Torii said, children have an innate ability to draw, and what we have to do is to protect this ability of children with joy and create a free painting environment and atmosphere for them.
This is the best love we can give our children
Busy with children in interest classes to learn to draw, don't forget to make up for this basic enlightenment class!
