By the end of the 21st century, about 90% of China will be hit by continuous floods and extreme heat

The results of the study show that: (1) in the past 2000, China has experienced 50-year floods and 50-year extreme heat, but there is no historical precedent for 50-year floods and extreme heat events in a week; (2) the risk of 50-year floods and extreme heat events in a week will rise rapidly in the 2030s; (3) by the end of the 21st century, about 90% of China will be hit by 50-year floods and extreme heat in a week ;(4) By the end of the 21st century, faster and more severe flooding and high temperature contiguous extreme events are expected to occur earlier in southwest and southeast China.
