Shen Erju (1937.2--2013.5), a native of Guixian County, Guangxi (Guigang City), ranked third among the six children of the author's second Bo Xilin, that is, my cousin's third brother, who is used to be called Brother Orange. When he was a teenager, he studied at Dakai Middle School in Guixian County, and after the founding of the Second Uncle, he was transferred to the principal of Hengyang Railway Engineering School, and in the summer of 1952, the Second Uncle and his children moved with him.

Among the six children of the second uncle, Erquan was the one who had the most peculiar experience and the most worries. In 1956, he was admitted to the Department of Water Conservancy of Tsinghua University, and at that time, his thinking was progressive, and he originally belonged to the training of the party. Who knew that in 1957, fate played a big joke with him, and he was actually beaten to the right. At that time, Tsinghua University was still open to right-wing students, and did not expel them from school, but had to undergo labor reform and education.

At the beginning of 1958, Erju was arranged to go to the Ximentougou Coal Mine in Jingjing to work in the tunnel, and there were several right-wing students who went to the same class. At about the end of the year, when the artillery was fired in the tunnel, an accident suddenly occurred, and it was a student of the Tsinghua Water Conservancy Department, and more than ten people were killed or injured in the accident.
Erzhu was also at the scene at the time of the accident, and he walked behind the line because he was carrying a heavier drilling tool. At the moment of the accident, he also wanted to rush to the front to rescue, but was decisively stopped by the teacher next to him, otherwise, he would also die on the spot. In the aftermath of the subsequent clean-up of the site, he tearfully collected the remains of his companions. After the accident, the Beijing Municipal Party Committee withdrew all the right-wing students from Tsinghua to the school.
After returning to school, Erquan was assigned to work as an experimenter in the hydraulic laboratory, temporarily living in a workers' dormitory, four people with four single beds. Soon, right-wing students were assigned to work at the Huangjiayuan Reservoir, where he once worked as a recorder.
In 1961, Erju was stripped of the hat of "rightist" and reinserted from the shui (Li department) class he had originally studied in to the shui fifth class (Note: At that time, Tsinghua's class name, the first class meant the class that graduated in 1961, and the fifth class referred to the class that graduated in 1965). In that year, President Jiang Nanxiang of Tsinghua University implemented the reform of the school system, and the five classes were changed from the original five-year system to six years. At that time, Erjian's brother Erjian studied at the Beijing Iron and Steel Institute, which was not far from Tsinghua, and the two brothers saw each other from time to time every week and were also entertained by their roommates.

The road to study is bumpy! Shortly after the transfer study, a group of suspected "reactionary students" appeared in TsinghuaYuan. Erzhu only occasionally passed by, listened to a few sermons in the audience, and was accused by some "ideologically progressive" students of being members of the "reactionary group", and his studies were once again affected and delayed. Although it was purely illusory, it took a lot of effort to finally clear the exoneration.
In 1966, the unprecedented "Cultural Revolution" years entered the Tsinghua Garden, and the Tsinghua Garden gradually became a chaotic mess, with classes suspended in succession, Red Guards factional disputes, loud and loud enlarged posters, and the teaching order was gone. During this period, in order to make ends meet, Er Orange found a temporary job of 28 yuan per month on campus; he was also criticized that year, during which he was hit and caused his teeth to fall out, as well as shaving his yin and yang head, wearing a top hat and the like, and could only live in confusion.

It was not until 1973 that Erju received a graduation certificate from Tsinghua University and was assigned to work in Pingnan County, Guangxi. From 1956 to 1973, it took 17 years. The second uncle who served as the head of the railway engineering technical school (academy) in Hengyang was helplessly looking forward to a year and looking forward to crossing the autumn water, and was finished!
In the history of Tsinghua, there are basically no students who have graduated for such a long time. It is said that only Song Denan, a student who has been wronged with him, can match him with his wings. Later, when Erquan died of illness, Song Denan flew from Shanghai to Nanning by plane to attend his memorial service.

Since June 1973, Erquan has successively served as a technician of the Pingnan County Hydropower Bureau, the leader of the farmland water conservancy construction team, and the deputy director of the agricultural office. He then married Nurse Sun Jenny, who worked at the Yulin District Health School, and gave birth to a daughter in 1979. In July 1982, Erquan was transferred to the Yulin Regional Hydropower Bureau and director of the Yulin Regional Hydropower Research Institute, and joined the Communist Party of China.
At the end of 1979, the author was absorbed from Guixian to work at the Yulin Regional Medical Research Institute, and then he was in the same city as Er tangerange, and had more opportunities for contact, which lasted for about 10 years. Although we sometimes eat and drink together, the content of the conversation with each other is rarely about eating, drinking and having fun, but is more focused on academic communication.

The author's first contact with computers benefited from the enlightenment and guidance of Orange Brother. The Institute of Hydropower Science, which he was in charge of, introduced and held a PC-1500 pocket computer training course earlier, and a long conversation with him made me feel enlightened, and with the support of superior leaders, my unit purchased pocket electronic computers in a timely manner. Because of my foundation in English and mathematics, I have a good grasp of computer applications after careful study. Later, after the regional health bureau configured the microcomputer, I was sent to Nanning for training, and in the final theoretical operation examination of the first regional computer study class in 1987, I won the first place. The awards in medical research projects are also partly due to the development and application of computers.

During his work in Yulin (including his later transfer to Nanning), Erju also paid great attention to the construction and development of his hometown of Guixian (Guigang City), and from time to time reunited with his alumni of that year.

In July 1992, Erju was transferred to Nanning, the capital of the autonomous region, and successively served as the deputy manager of the manager department of the China Guangxi International Economic and Technical Cooperation Corporation in Pakistan, the director of the third chief division, the deputy chief engineer, and the chief engineer. His wife, Sun Jenny, was also transferred to the Guangxi International Economic and Technical Cooperation Corporation as a doctor. At that time, the author often traveled to Nanning on business, and from time to time he met at his apartment on Xinghu Road.

As an excellent technical backbone, a member of the Communist Party of China, Erju has made a successful contribution to the company's overseas project contracting business, especially the development of water conservancy projects in South Asia and Pakistan, as well as projects such as Nepal bot, and he has made contributions to the company's foreign business to glory. He retired in October 1999.

After retirement, Erzhu continued to work hard for the development of the company. His treatment plan for Pakistan's water conservancy projects and related technical problems has been highly praised and adopted by experts at home and abroad, bringing the project on the verge of bankruptcy back to life, and has been commended by the relevant parties of the Pakistani government. The exploration, design and construction of the Nandan County Mandarin Duck Bridge Hydropower Project, which has been basically completed, generated and put into operation in China, has also left him with a hard work.

Complicated journey and years of selfless struggle, Erju has made a full contribution to the limited energy! In May 2013, he finally died at the age of 75 due to a sudden emergency illness (diabetes and myocardial infarction) in Nanning and was sent to the Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University to save him. Many of his colleagues, relatives and friends went to Nanning to bid farewell to him, including the Tsinghua scholar Song Denan mentioned above. The author was also seriously ill in Guangzhou because his old mother was also in Guangzhou, and he could not go there separately. In March 2021, his widow, Jenny, also completed her life and went to heaven to accompany Brother Orange.
