In July, Ms. Tao, a resident of Jidong County, Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province, bought diet pills produced online by a company in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. Ms. Tao said that after taking diet pills for a few days, there were many symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and inability to sleep, and when she went to the hospital for a check, the doctor asked if she had taken drugs. Hearing such a prompt, Ms. Tao immediately came to the anti-drug brigade of the Jidong County Public Security Bureau in Jixi City to report the case, and the police immediately conducted a urine test on Ms. Tao, and the result was positive. The police then sent the samples of diet pills provided by Ms. Tao to the Judicial Identification Center of China Medical University for ingredient testing. After identification, these diet pills contain pseudoephedrine components, because according to the Regulations on the Safety Management of Hazardous Chemicals and the Regulations on the Administration of Precursor Chemicals, pseudoephedrine is a drug controlled by the relevant departments and is also one of the raw materials for making methamphetamine.
