【Global Times Comprehensive Report】 According to Kyodo News Agency reported on the 4th, during this year's Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, the wooden exchange space "village plaza" built in the Olympic Village has been demolished, and the timber previously provided free of charge by many places across Japan has also embarked on the "way home".
During the Olympic Games, the village plaza serves as the main communication space for athletes from all over the world, with grocery stores and coffee shops on site. In order to realize the concept of "Sustainable Olympics", the village plaza was built with about 40,000 pieces of wood provided by 63 local governments across Japan.
The timber will be returned by the end of February next year after being marked with a mark that proves it was used for the Olympic Games. After return, the timber, which is a legacy of the Olympic Games, will be used for park benches and elementary school renovation projects in various places. (Li Xiao)
