It is often combined with dried ginger and licorice to treat the spleen and kidney yang failure and limbs, cold, diarrhea such as water or incontinence, and the pulse is slightly desperate. If the tongue is yellow or the mouth is bitter and dry, it is the image of yin sheng ge yang, which can be combined with cold medicines, such as tang plus huanglian or pig bile. If it is also sweaty, it is a sign of qi detachment, and it should be used in conjunction with ginseng. When treating dead yang detachment, the predecessors used four reverse soups and ginseng soups, mainly to consider whether sweating or not, and whether there was diarrhea or not. Because the spleen and stomach deficiency is easy to get wet, the treatment of spleen and stomach deficiency is not like the heart and kidney yang deficiency when it must be combined with a certain yin medicine. The soup is based on the effect of cold pain in the stomach with cold limbs and slow pulses, or pain in the stomach and chest at the same time. Cold and pain relief: attachment to warm the heart, spleen and kidney meridian, and can also enter the liver meridian, so the treatment of cold empirical pulse tightness, flank pain rhubarb appendage soup with appendages, stomach cold pain, umbilical and abdominal cold pain, hernia pain and cold heartache and so on also use appendages. Although this kind of wind is more common in children's diarrhea, pneumonia and Japanese encephalitis are also occasionally seen, and it is often easily ignored clinically.
Raising blood pressure and speeding up the pulse: look at this problem dialectically. The appendage replenishes the yang and the fire, returns to the yang to save the rebellion, and has the effect of increasing the heart rate on the heart skipping of the pulse and the slowing of the cold and evil straight center and the heart skip of the abdomen. However, for pulse numbers that are both yin and yang or yang, such as the pulse number in heart failure, the appendages can not only not accelerate it, but can slow down the heartbeat.

Treatment of aphasia: the tongue is the seedling of the heart, the appendage enters the heart, and the phlegm of the heart is removed, so the aphasia of stroke is often used as an appendage. According to Li Hanqing's experience, the appendage can only be used for cold phlegm aphasia that often salivates, and cannot be used for thermal aphasia that does not salivate, and the effect is better when used with whole insects, poria, nanxing, and bamboo.
Antiemetic and inducing vomiting: Some books say that the appendage can induce vomiting, and some say that it can stop vomiting.
