Today (August 2), 29 people representing Hunan in the mass sports badminton competition were sent to Tianjin. In addition to badminton, there are also rock climbing and roller skating (trio basketball is not included) in the mass events, two events that have not been finalized.
The badminton event of the National Games will be held in Tianjin from August 5 to August 10, and the final will be held from August 30 to September 3. The qualifiers and finals are divided into three groups according to age, a, b and c, of which group A was born after January 1, 1983, and the Hunan team sent a total of 16 people. Group b and group C were born from January 1, 1968 to December 31, 1982 and from January 1, 1953 to December 31, 1967, respectively, and the Hunan team sent 9 and 4 people respectively.
Xiang badminton world champion Gong Ruina will be the head of the badminton team in the mass events of the Hunan Provincial National Games, to which Gong Ruina said: "As an athlete who participated in the Ninth National Games, after retiring, I still have the opportunity to represent Hunan as a coach, which is a great honor. I hope that the Hunan team can play our badminton Xiang army at the National Games and strive for good results. ”
The players participating in the qualifiers in Tianjin were all selected through the 2017 National East- West-South-South Central Badminton Competition, and have been trained in Anhua and Changsha, the "hometown of badminton".
Deng Wei, 43, is a player who came out by participating in the East- West-South-North Badminton Competition, she said: "After the bumpy road from Hunan to Yinchuan in Ningxia, overcoming various difficulties, once again being favored by heaven, winning the Mixed Doubles Championship of Yinchuan Station, qualifying for the National Games, I am very grateful to accompany my relatives and friends along the way." In the upcoming qualifiers, Dunway will compete in the women's singles and mixed doubles competitions in Group B.
Sun Pingbo, deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau, said in an interview with the Red Net Sports Reporter: "At the 13th National Games, a total of 1165 athletes in our province participated in the national preliminary rounds (qualifications) of 18 major events in the mass projects, and more than 200 athletes qualified for the finals.
