The following pictures of "sick fish" were taken after the opening of the river this year (there are red worms in the tail fin and crucian carp bitten by anchorhead worms, and they have not been sent up one by one):

In the past few years, I have caught "sick fish" in the river many times, some are harmed by parasites, some do not know what the cause is, the fins and tail fins have patches of chicken pox, and some body deformities, in short, there is a clear difference with healthy fish. In particular, since this spring, the number of "sick fish" caught has increased, which cannot but arouse alarm.

Today I saw a news on the Internet, the headline is "China plans to invest more than 2 trillion yuan to control water pollution" - 2014-06-11 03:46:57Source: Nanjing Daily. On June 4, Li Ganjie, vice minister of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, said at a press conference of the State Council's new office: "The situation of the national water environment is still very severe, and the number of water environment emergencies involving drinking water safety is still quite large, with more than a dozen cases per year in recent years, and 5 more in the first five months of this year." The article said that in recent years, China's modernization and industrialization process has been accelerating, and the total amount of wastewater discharge has also shown a sustained growth trend. From 2001 to 2012, the total amount of wastewater discharged in China increased from 43.3 billion tons in 2001 to 68.5 billion tons in 2012, an increase of 25.2 billion tons in 12 years, with an average annual discharge of 2.1 billion tons of wastewater per year, with an average annual compound growth rate of about 4.3%. Li Ganjie, vice minister of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, said that the Ministry of Environmental Protection will pay close attention to formulating and promulgating the "Ten Water Articles" and earnestly fight the major battle of water pollution prevention and control. From this point of view, the state has begun to make great efforts to control water pollution at all costs. Natural water pollution will inevitably have an adverse impact on wild fish, and the emergence of a large number of "diseased fish" has an inevitable causal relationship with it. But are there any other auxiliary causes besides this main cause? Personally, I think there must be unscientific release of farmed fish into rivers. Second, it is directly related to us anglers, that is, to release the small fish that have been caught and protected by the fish when they leave.

Let's start with the first. On May 28th, I accompanied my wife to the riverside to watch the scenery, and suddenly there was a high-decibel "Great Compassion Curse". It turned out that there was a live fish stall on the side of the road at the exit of the river embankment dam, which was specially prepared for the release of people. On the ground are two square aluminum shallow box loach, loach has the thickness of a small thumb, I don't know if it is wild; there are also four square aluminum shallow box crucian carp, the tail weight is between six or seven, you can identify at a glance that it is artificially farmed. Unlike the normal fish stall selling fish, there are more fish in the box, less water, and no oxygen pump, and the crucian carp breathes heavily, suffering from lack of oxygen, as if always expecting compassionate people to rescue them. The "Great Compassion Mantra" is issued by a large floor-to-ceiling speaker next to the fish stall, which shows the good intentions of the operator. It is a personal freedom to buy fish for release, but whether putting farmed fish grown up eating feed in natural waters will have a negative impact on wild fish? I wonder if there are parasites in the bodies of these fish farmed in stagnant water? Needless to say, this kind of release is blind and superstitious, and it is not worth advocating. Due to the lack of wild adaptability of these released farmed fish, they are accustomed to eating and lazily relying on life, swallowing bait when they see it, and most of them are caught by anglers, which is a good thing to protect the purity of wild fish.

Let's talk about the second. Is it beneficial to protect wild fish for the re-release of small fish after catching? Some people say that developed countries have relevant legal provisions, and fish caught that are not large enough must be released. I personally believe that the legal provisions stipulated by other countries have their own reasons and specific national conditions, and will not be discussed here. Or analyze the whole process of catching a small crucian carp to enter the protection: most of the fish is injured in the lip after the hook, after the fish instinctively struggles, because the thin hook wound of the small crucian carp's lips will definitely expand, and when it is held in the hand to pick the hook, it is painful and frightened, and then it is imprisoned in the fish protection. I think the feeling of the fish in the fish protection must be extremely panicked. A few days ago, fishing, hanging up a fish cat (probably the person who threw the fish cat threw the rope of the fish cat out of his hand, and did not catch it), the strange thing is that several small fish in the fish cat are dead. The fish cat is made of yarn, there is no lack of oxygen, and there is a ball of cornmeal flatbread in it, which does not seem to be due to lack of oxygen or starvation. Some of the onlookers said that they were scared to death, some said that they had lost their freedom and died depressed, and some said that they died because they could not go out and rush to the fire inside... In short, it is believed that the small fish trapped in the fish cat is the cause of death mentally. On the fishing network, I have seen many articles and pictures of small fish that are in the protection and fish that I think are not large enough. I remember the most profound is that a netizen sent a picture of all the small crucian carp in the fish protection after fishing, and I suggested in the post that if you want to release it, it is best to release it when you catch it, so that the harm to the fish is small. The netizen said that at that time, the release did not reflect a sense of achievement. As we all know, if there are big fish in the fish protection, the small fish in the protection are easily tossed by the big fish to hurt the fins, lose scales, and scrape off the body fluids. Think about it: a small fish with a wound on its mouth, a scale on its body, and a frightened person will return to the waters that are polluted to varying degrees, and even if it does not die, it will peel its skin. Everyone understands a truth, wounds are afraid of bacterial infection, injured fish back in polluted waters wounds are likely to be infected, sick, and weak fish, it is easy to become the object of parasite attacks to stay overnight, it is not surprising that "sick fish" frequently appear in the river.
