Some time ago, someone asked to buy my calligraphy works, and at that time I vaguely felt that there were good signs. I have always believed that the mass basis of calligraphy is higher than painting, and many people think that calligraphy is writing, and brush calligraphy is writing brush characters. I think that's the case, and everyone can become a calligrapher.
In fact, the things in the world, the easiest to get started are the most difficult to improve, the most difficult to become a family. When writing calligraphy reaches a stage, you will suddenly feel that there is a lot of stuff in it. Between dots and strokes, between horizontal and vertical, the combination of a word, and the overall chapter, etc., the logic involved is very complicated and very simple. In this regard, it is not difficult to achieve proficiency, but the difficulty is that the atmosphere created by the work gives people the impression of the magnetic field of sensory psychology. This must be arranged according to the rules.
In terms of calligraphy, I chose two ways to go, continue to study the excellent traditional calligraphy inscriptions, calligraphy art, without the inscriptions as a foundation, then it is impossible to build a building. At the same time, it pays attention to the creative practice of creative calligraphy. What is creative calligraphy, my personal understanding is that it is another form of artistic expression that has been opened up on top of traditional calligraphy.
Creative calligraphy is often associated with painting, and many creative calligraphy can be appreciated as a painting. The most important thing about creative calligraphy is to visualize Chinese characters more graphically, and it can break the limitations of various calligraphy styles. Although many calligraphers consider creative calligraphy to be grotesque, detached from the essence of traditional calligraphy, it is not advisable. And I feel that things are man-made, artistic things, has always been a matter of opinion, do not have to be agreed by everyone.
Recently, I watched Huang Qiuyuan's life deeds and knew that he had studied Chinese painting very early and was also famous in the local area. However, the American Association has not accepted him as a member, to put it bluntly, it is to be rejected. His paintings are confined to a very small range. Later, his descendants held an exhibition for the old man in the capital. So famous at home and abroad.
As a result, he is listed as one of the most influential painters in modern times. So, many times, when others look down on you and everyone is sneering at you, don't lose your confidence and courage. This reminds me of the famous French writer Jules Verne, whose first novel was rejected by more than a dozen publishing houses. He was so devastated that he was about to destroy the manuscript, but fortunately his wife did not give up and kept it for him.
Later, he broke through the danger and achieved success. American best-selling author Stephen King, when writing, was once embarrassed, but he dared to move forward and finally broke through. It can be seen that no one can succeed without experiencing ups and downs.
Although these true stories are just for self-encouragement to motivate themselves. But it also shows that you must be able to endure and persevere in doing things, so that you can get the fruit you want.
Although I have made progress in calligraphy and writing, I have also won one or two small awards from time to time, and I have received fees or something. But there are still many disappointments. For example, I painstakingly created several works and took them to the exhibition, but I was not notified, and I was informed that those who did not have notice could not enter the exhibition. Although a little disappointed, it is also relieved to think about. The organizer's website used the work for the sales platform, and things changed again, and someone actually came to buy it, bidding nearly a thousand yuan. Since I set the lowest price, I couldn't close the deal.
That, again, seemed to give me hope. Through this, I learned more that the work I create is valuable. It also made me understand this truth: even if the artwork is not optimistic, it can have a price. Even if the creative road is not smooth, it will inevitably usher in a rainbow. It's been a tough time before the rainbow, so I'm going to hold on!
I once wrote a novel that I showed to the writers and teachers of the Literary Association, but I didn't hear from them. After that, I sent the novel to some domestic magazines, which were also stoned in the sea. But I didn't give up. At that time, I thought that it was something I wrote, and I should not belittled and thrown away. A few years later, I edited the novel and took it to the National Literature Competition, where I won the prize.
Isn't this very depressing, it is true, a novel that has no place to ask for an award, or national, now think of it as ridiculous as luck. So after that, when many authors complained that the article had never been published and wanted to throw it away, I advised them to let it go, and it would always be useful. As the saying goes, gold shines.
This is also the case with things in this world, and so is this life, and disappointment and hope and despair often complement each other. Maybe you feel disappointed, maybe the next moment it will turn into hope. Maybe you thought hope was coming, but you broke into a desperate little black room.
Confidence I understand is optimism. When you look ugly, you think you are beautiful, congratulations, you must have a price. When you are as beautiful as a fairy, you consider yourself plain and gentle, and show kindness and ease, congratulations, you are a shining pearl. When you only have one dollar on you, you don't buy a steamed bun, but take the money to buy a ticket, congratulations, you will succeed. Don't be surprised, because you go in with your tickets and you'll meet your nobles. How can a steamed bun be compared to a nobleman?
