Chen Wei (1430-1484), courtesy name Wenyao, was a native of Dayi Village, Qingkou Town, Minxian (present-day Minhou County). In the fourth year of Ming Shun (1460), he served as the inspector of Henan Province, the envoy of Jiangxi and Zhejiang, and spoke out with boldness.

In the 147 years from the nineteenth year of Ming Yongle (1421) to the second year of Longqing (1568), nine jinshi emerged from the Dayi Rong embroidery Chen clan, namely Chen Shugang, the eldest son of Chen Junxuan (Chen Shugang, who was a waiter, although he did not reach the fourth pin, but also received a golden belt), the third son Chen Shushao, the eldest son of Shugang, Chen Wei, the nephew of Chen Jie, the grandson of Shu Gang, Chen Da, Chen Xian of Chen Gang's sons, Chen Quanzhi and Chen Yanzhi, the sons of Chen Jie, all of whom lived above four pins, wearing purple robes and wearing gold belts around their waists, known as "Rong Xiu Chen's nine golden belts", and there were" The fourth and ninth ascended the yellow armor, and the reputation of one door and eight crowns was awarded.

Among these "nine golden belts", the most famous one is Chen Wei. Throughout his life, he had high ambitions, a strong style, a keen and honest government, a meticulous law enforcement, and a well-known reputation, and was a famous honest official in the history of the Ming Dynasty. His name is included in the "Fuzhou Fuzhi • Biography of Famous Ministers" and the "Dictionary of Chinese Celebrities in Past Dynasties", and he is the author of the "Collection of Shame Nunnery" in ten volumes.

Envy is like hatred, speaking bluntly and telling good advice

When Chen Wei was serving as the inspector of imperial history in Henan Province, Jinyi Weiyi commanded an envoy named Menda, who was a man who was flying high and low, and after being promoted for his merits in "seizing the door", he relied on the favor of Emperor Ming Yingzong, violated the law and discipline, oppressed the people, caused great injustice, repeatedly framed dissident officials, and officials in the DPRK were afraid of their power and did not dare to interfere in the interrogation, so as not to cause fire. Only Chen Wei was not afraid of power, carefully checked, reported according to the facts, and stated in pieces that Menda had committed various crimes of adultery, using power for personal gain, and persecuting dissidents, and requested the emperor to order him to be severely punished. After emperor Ming Xianzong, who had just ascended the throne, was very angry when he received Chen Wei's impeachment of Menda, he immediately issued a decree to exile Menda to the barbaric Guangxi, and the imperial court was all applauded.

In addition, Nanjing gave Wang Hui the title of Emperor Zhong, who was demoted to Yuanzhou (遠州) because of the discussion of the request of the university scholar Liu Ji to re-establish the abolition of the empress, angered the emperor. The Manchu Dynasty Minister of Culture and Military Affairs was silent about this, and no one dared to go to the chapter to rescue him, except Chen Wei, who was fearless and dared to speak out, and people gave him the nickname "Dare to Speak".

Caring for the people Diligent administration for the people

In 1463, Chen Wei was serving as the inspector of Henan Province, and patrolled the surrounding counties of Nanjing. At that time, the four counties of Su, Song, Chang, and Zhen were affected by the disaster and poor harvest for many years, and the disaster situation was serious. He immediately opened a warehouse to distribute tens of millions of stones of grain, helped the victims, and organized the victims to carry out production and self-help, thus saving tens of thousands of victims, and the people were grateful to him. At that time, in order to build grain canals and ships, Caoyun first bet on the rich and noble families with the low price of the soldier's monthly salary and grain, which was used as a shipbuilding cost, and after a long time, the monthly grain deficit was short, and the soldiers' families had no grain to eat. After Chen Wei knew that it was verified, he calculated the cost interest according to the time of the grain mortgage, and returned all of them to the soldiers and gave them commendations.

Punish criminal syndicates and eliminate evil forces and rectify the administration of officials

Corrupt officials have been a persistent disease of society since ancient times. At that time, the officials in Jiangxi were corrupt and devastated, and many officials were faint and incompetent, and people who were not bold and had both courage did not dare to come here to take up posts. In the year of Chenghua Gengyin (1470), Chen Wei was appointed as an envoy to Jiangxi, where he cleaned himself and strictly investigated cases and safeguarded social fairness and justice. Fuzhou bandit Prince Jiu plotted to drown the wife of the Fujian merchant Lin Chun and others to seize money and goods; the Linchuan people yan kuan, framed the Fengcheng craftsman Ao Yuan as a thief, beat him to death and took away his assets. Both cases have dragged on for a long time due to collusion between officials and bandits, leaving the criminals with impunity. After Chen Wei took office, he was not afraid of authority, straightened out the rule of officials, punished criminal syndicates and eliminated evil forces, adjudicated according to law, and appealed injustices for the people.

Family inheritance benefits future generations

Chen Wei can become a generation of honest officials who "dare to speak out and are as evil as enemies", which is inseparable from his strong family education atmosphere. His father, Chen Shugang, was proficient in the Spring and Autumn Period, along with the study of Tushi, Baishi, and Yin-Yang Geography, and had a gentle and loyal temperament. Under the influence of his father, Chen Wei was eager to learn from an early age, and once studied ancient Chinese with his uncle Chen Shushao in the Wanjuan Building. In order to make himself more devoted to learning, he self-destructed the stairs, and the meal was hoisted upstairs by rope, and he vowed not to go downstairs before completing the school, and insisted on it for three years. His diligence made him inherit his father's erudition, and even had the tendency to be better than blue out of blue.

In addition to his family's profound knowledge, the Rongxiu Chen clan also ruled his family with filial piety and righteousness, becoming a model in the world. When his mother Lin Ruren was ill, Chen Shushao prayed to the heavens every day, hating that he could not suffer from the pain of his own surrogate mother, and even tasted his mother's feces to distinguish the severity of his mother's illness; when his brother Chen Shu was just suffering from a mad disease, he was moody and even the servants did not dare to come close, while Chen Shushao still waited carefully and did not leave his side until his uncle had just died of illness. Chen Shushao was the deputy envoy of Huguang, but "the day of the death had no spare resources", and even the things after his death were received by his colleagues to return to the roots, and his heart of a pure child could be learned from heaven and earth.

Under the inspiration of the ancestors and fathers and brothers of the Chen family, the children of the Chen family also have many virtues. The ancestral hall of the Chen clan once preserved a Nanmu red gold couplet, which reads that "the adoptive mother abandoned the official and was called filial piety in the upper chapter of the road, and the Qin King played the court under the edict xu Nengchen", and the shanglian told the story of Chen Jin, the second son of Chen Yan. Chen Jin had been a fellow scholar of Huguang Jingmen, and was also quite talented and praised by the people, and was later promoted to the capital of Henan, but he considered that his mother was old, and his brother Chen Da and brother Chen Xian were both officials outside, so he consciously abandoned the official to serve his mother and accepted Huan's knees.

In 1992, Rongxiu Chen Ancestral Hall was listed as the second batch of county-level cultural relics protection units in Minhou County. The story of the "Nine Golden Belts" was put on the Fuzhou dialect television program "Telling taste", which was publicized in a way that the masses liked to hear, and also appeared in the Minhou County Rule of Law and Honest Government Cultural Park in the form of a cartoon wall for the vast number of cadres and the masses to visit and study.

In order to inherit the fine tradition of diligence and filial piety of the ancestors, Dayi Village uses the playground slope of Dayi Primary School to engrave the lives and allusions of the nine ancestors of the "Nine Golden Belts" on marble, forming a cultural gallery with a length of 50 meters and a width of 2.5 meters, so that students can deeply and intuitively learn the spirit of diligence, loyalty and honesty of the ancestors in their hometown, accept the influence of excellent local culture, and let the young generation inherit and carry forward the culture of filial piety.
