On the evening of August 6, Beijing time, in the Tokyo Olympics athletics men's 4×100 meters relay competition, the Chinese men's relay team composed of Su Bingtian, Xie Zhenye, Tang Xingqiang and Wu Zhiqiang ran 37.79 seconds and won the 4th place, leveling their best record in the Olympic Games before, of which the last baton was Wu Zhiqiang from Hubei, who drew a successful end to the Chinese team's Tokyo Olympic journey with strong running.

Wu Zhiqiang was born in April 1994 in Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia. Wu Zhiqiang registered in Hubei at the end of 2010, participated in the City Games held in Nanchang in 2011, and officially became a Hubei regular athlete in 2018. In the 2021 National Athletics Championships and National Games Qualification Tournament, Wu Zhiqiang won the silver medal with a time of 10.11 seconds, refreshing the individual PB. In the 2021 Hangzhou Athletics Invitational Tournament and Asian Games Test Match, Wu Zhiqiang won the championship with a time of 10.18 seconds in the men's 100m final, opening the 10.20 seconds mark for the second time this year. In the Tokyo Olympic cycle, Wu Zhiqiang opened the 10.20 seconds mark five times, becoming the third person in the main force of the Chinese men's 100-meter relay.

At the Tokyo Olympics, in addition to the 4×100 meters relay race, Wu Zhiqiang also played in the 100 meters race, and in the group stage he ran 10.18 seconds, ranking fourth, and had no chance to go further.
