Affected by the epidemic, land prices in Kampot province plummeted by half

Qiao Sujie, manager of KW Kampot Real Estate, pointed out that at the beginning of last year, the land price in the province's neighboring urban and suburban areas was about $100 per square meter, and after being hit hard by the epidemic, the land price has now fallen to $40 to $60, while the price of land in the city center has dropped by 60% to 70% from the original high price.

Qiao Sujie said that most people are experiencing financial problems, and the land market is very deserted. Previously, most land buyers planned to buy land to build gas stations, warehouses and housing projects.

He said that in the second half of last year, due to the sharp decline in the number of foreign tourists received by Siem Reap, the land price in Siem Reap Province fell a lot compared with Phnom Penh and West Port. Land prices in Westport fell by 7.2% to 16.7%, and the reason for the decline in land prices in Westport was not only hit by the epidemic, but also seriously affected after the government announced the ban on gambling.

It should be mentioned that the Cambodian government has designated Battambang Province as an important special economic zone in 2023, and the land price of battambang special economic zone has decreased slightly compared with 2019, and the real estate market has stagnated, and there are few buyers in the real estate sector.
