We don't drink "flying dragon" soup
Author: Zhang Xianrong
The students of the first Yinglin Technical School in Daxinganling area may remember that this was a popular "slogan" on campus that year! I'm not an environmentalist, and in 1981 I went to technical school I didn't have the environmental awareness I have today. Writing this memoir is not to match the current CCTV hit "Protect Animals, Protect Our Homeland" news investigation program, but to recall the story of our technical school that remains in the memory and happens in the school collective canteen.
Feilong is produced in the large and small Xing'anling areas of Heilongjiang. Flying dragon bird, belongs to the ornithischian grouse family, the body shape is very similar to a pigeon, the weight is between six and two to nine two, the flesh is white and tender, often used as a high-grade soup dish, the taste is delicious and abnormal, refreshing. The state protects animals, and now they can't eat them. The "flying dragon" I mentioned here is not this high-quality soup, it is an extremely disgusting and nasty fly! The story begins with the collective canteen of the technical school.
In the spring of 1981, we went to the technical school of the Daxinganling Area Scientific Research Station and ate group food. Don't look at the school building and canteen are newly built, but the conditions are simple. The canteen is transformed from an old house, with a tin box room as a dining room, the restaurant area is small, cold in winter and hot in summer, so almost no one eats here, its role is mainly to provide a shelter for students to cover the wind and rain when they eat.
At that time, reform and opening up had just started, and it was still in the era of planned economy, and the school issued a monthly scholarship of seventeen yuan and five yuan per student, and each student's monthly grain was rationed, and each person's monthly grain was thirty catties: twenty-three catties of coarse grain and seven catties of fine grain. So the school food standard is very low. The staple food of the day is mainly large steamed buns and sorghum rice, with only a small amount of rice and steamed buns.
The daily dish is soup in the morning, five cents, two to four stir-fries at noon, five cents for the triangular five-cents with meat, and two cents without meat. Dinner is based on soup, supplemented by stir-fries left over from noon. On holidays, there are five cents of braised pork per scoop. Even so, there are very few people who buy stir-fried vegetables and whole meat dishes, and soup is the main dish of the students! It is this "soup" based on leftovers and vegetable leaves and other miscellaneous materials that has become the fuse for the intensification of contradictions between the school and the students.
Because the school is newly built, the staff of the canteen are temporarily patchworked, the food standards are low, coupled with the simple conditions, the staff's sense of responsibility is not strong, so the rice can not be cooked thoroughly, the vegetables can not be moderate, and the short supply of meals is often two pounds. The most intolerable thing is that the flies in the "soup" that students often drink are continuous, because the flies in the soup continue to appear, and the students have repeatedly reflected to the canteen that this matter has been fruitless, so the whole school students shouted out: We do not drink the slogan of "Flying Dragon" soup.
The exact date can not be remembered, that day, some students could not bear it, and the canteen staff theory was fruitless, spilled the soup with flies to the rice window, and damaged the meal window and the canteen door, resulting in the first technical school students and canteen staff contradiction intensification incident. After the school leaders organized the school canteen and the student representatives of the student union to communicate, negotiate, and negotiate, the situation was calmed down!
The school canteen is sometimes a place of right and wrong, and the "smoke of war" is continuous. Schools, like society, obey a certain order. Every day, there is a queue for meals, first come, first served.
Especially on holidays, there are limited good meals in the canteen, and whoever gets in the front of the line may hit a delicious meal. But there are always some classmates who do not abide by these orders, relying on their own arms and strength, the advantage of being older than others, and they have to forcibly add "plugs" every day when they come late. If you disagree, the light one will insult, and the heavy one will be punched and kicked.
Therefore, the school canteen can be said to be "smoke and smoke" continuously. I remember that there was such a classmate in the first class at that time, who repeatedly added "stuffing" in the canteen to bully the two young classmates in our dormitory. When these two classmates of mine told me, I was particularly angry. Coincidentally, this classmate actually added "plugging" and bullying to my head on the day of "May Fourth Youth Day" in 1982, and the result was that he suffered from flesh and skin, and I was disqualified from being an "excellent league member" by the general branch of the school league!
Thirty years after graduation, many things have been experienced vividly.
Love and hate are turned into memories. It doesn't matter if it's right or wrong, after all, we were all young at that time! Looking back, we no longer have "hatred", and the classmate friendship that remains in the memory is precipitated by that experience! I miss the campus life we studied together, and I miss my classmates who live far away in Daxinganling and other places.
Students, I wish you happiness!
