The peak is two thousand miles away, and the green dyes the northern country in the sky. The forest is undoubtedly the most distinctive appearance of the Daxing'an Mountains.

Nature has been rising and falling for hundreds of millions of years, and cold temperate plants have been slowly and comprehensively developed in the distinct four seasons of Daxing'anling, forming a complete forest ecosystem.
The frost-free period of Daxing'anling is only 80-90 days on average, and as the dominant tree species in Daxing'anling, it takes about 80 to 100 years for a Xing'an larch to grow from germination to adulthood.
Larch cones hang from the branches.
Their seeds carry wings and are carried away from the mother by the wind in search of soil.
If they are lucky, they encounter bare soil layers and sprout in the spring of the following year.
Young people prefer dark, damp environments, but they also push up to the sun. They are quickly able to stand out in a competitive environment.
After seventy or eighty cold and summer, they grew into the most beautiful plants in Daxing'anling, thirty or forty meters tall, beautiful and straight.
At this point, their canopy reaching out into the sky began to be tested by thunder and monsoons.
The Metal Mineralization Belts of Daxing'anling Are Widely Distributed, and these mineralization belts derived from crustal changes are hidden deep in rock formations, but they always seduce electrons in the sky, and once the conditions are available, dry thunderstorms will be formed. The long body of the larch protruding into the sky often becomes the conductor of lightning and ore, and after a thunderstorm, the larch in the center of the lightning will be split longitudinally, and the taller the larch, the higher the probability of being struck by lightning.
If this lightning strike phenomenon occurs in the dry season, lightning will often ignite the moss of tree trunks or roots, thus triggering mountain fires, which is also the main reason for the frequent occurrence of mountain fires in the primitive forest area of the northern Daxinganling Mountains in Inner Mongolia.
The tree that was knocked down by lightning is called lightning strike wood, folklore lightning strike wood can avoid evil, often people collect lightning strike wood, cut into small ornaments for children to wear on the body, in order to bless the children to grow up safely.
The soil in the Daxing'anling Mountains is thin, and under the shallow soil layer is hard rock, in order to obtain enough nutrients, larch spreads its roots and whiskers flat to occupy more territory. They grow taller and taller, but the huge root system cannot be deeper and deeper, and can only improve the stability needed to support the body by expanding the area of contact with the land.
Between the Mountains of Daxing'anling, river valleys and small basins between mountains, such an environment is affected by monsoons and temperatures, often producing instantaneous extreme convective currents, that is, hurricanes. The hurricane shakes the tall larchs, uprooting and blowing them, exposing the rock mass under the soil layer, and the wood shows that the wind in the forest will urge it, which is the phenomenon of wind falling wood in the Daxing'an Mountains.
In autumn, pine needles turn golden.
