The earthquake is coming! Wrapped around her little feet, Grandma ran back to the house and took away her swaddled grandson on the bed

My grandmother (grandmother) was a kind-looking little-footed old lady who died when I was three years old. My grandmother lived in southern Ningxia, where conditions were harsh.

It was too far from the Yellow River to open a canal to divert the flow. People there have to take water from the water cellar. Water cellars are dug into low-lying cisterns dedicated to collecting rainwater in summer and snow in winter. The muddy rainwater that carries dirt, weeds and sheep dung eggs has been precipitated and gradually clarified to become people's domestic water for a year.

Grandma spent her life in this place where even draft water was difficult.

In fact, my life has long intersected with my grandmother's life, but I am still a baby who is still in her infancy, and I have no memory in my head.

Listening to my mother, the year I was born, the Tangshan earthquake had just occurred, and there were aftershocks all over the country. Fathers and mothers lived in dilapidated adobe houses that would most likely crack and collapse in the event of an earthquake, with unimaginable consequences if the heavy adobe blocks fell.

Listen to my mother, on the day I was about to turn the full moon, there was another earthquake, and there seemed to be a huge beast roaring in a low voice in the ground, the beams and trusses creaked, and the adobe walls on all sides seemed to be crumbling.

My father, mother, and grandmother, who came to visit me from my hometown, took my eldest brother, second brother, third brother, and my sister out of the house in a panic. As soon as they took a breath, grandma exclaimed that the moon doll was still on the kang, and the moon doll was still in the house.

At this time, the roar of the earthquake rumbled again, and the grandmother closest to the door did not think about anything, and rushed into the house with her little feet and carried me out.

When my grandmother was critically ill, I could already remember things, and I remember my grandmother lying on the earth kang, trembling and raising a thin hand, and said to me in a weak voice, asking my grandmother to shake hands.

I reached over and Grandma squeezed it gently. She seemed to be feeling something, and it was as if she was transmitting something. Despite my ignorance, I could still feel a strange power full of nostalgia, sustenance and blessing.

Soon after I let go of my hand, my grandmother passed away. It was then that I realized that the moment my grandmother shook my hand was already her deathbed.
