Hekou District actively responds to the trend of population aging, takes the service needs of the elderly as the guide, builds a pension service system that coordinates home community institutions and combines medical and health care, provides high-quality and diversified old-age services for the elderly, and continuously enhances the sense of happiness, sense of gain and security of the elderly.
With the acceleration of the aging process in Hekou District, Ma Haiyan, a deputy to the District People's Congress, put forward the "Proposal on Building a Community Love and Happiness Canteen" at the Fifth Session of the Eighteenth District People's Congress after in-depth research.
After the proposal was put forward, Hekou District attaches great importance to the establishment of a pilot project of "Loving the Old and Happy Canteen" in yonghe community of isolated island town and Xihan Commune, in a regionalized operation mode, by a professional pension service company, according to the diet characteristics of the elderly, specially customized recipes, dishes meat and vegetables with balanced nutrition. The opening of the canteen for the elderly not only solves the problem of the elderly's dining and the worries of their children, but also allows more elderly people to get rid of the pots and pans and have a more colorful old age.
Since the beginning of this year, Hekou District has built a total of 3 elderly canteens in Yonghe Community, Xihan Village and He'an Community in Liuhe Street, and our district has also combined the suggestions of the "Community Love the Elderly Happy Canteen" with the promotion of people's livelihood in the home community pension service improvement project, built 1 river transport community pension service station and 1 community elderly activity center, implemented 226 households suitable for aging, and carried out government purchase of home care services for 435 eligible elderly people. At the same time, our district has incorporated the home community pension service improvement project into the people's livelihood practical project, and built five day care centers, pension service stations, community canteens for the elderly and other pension service places, and the refinement of the elderly family and the continuous improvement of the service level of aging.
