Adapted from Morimi Noboru's masterpiece, the anime won the 20th Yamamoto Goro Award, the 1st prize for the favorite novel voted by readers of Vinci Da Vinci, and the 2nd prize for the Nippon Bookstore Award. It tells the story of a dark-haired girl and a crush on his senior in four seasons.
In the adaptation, director Masaaki Yuasa condenses the story into four parts in one night: with Lee Hakudou Sake, the search for ancient books in the market, the stage play to appeal to the intestines, and the rescue of the cold people in the city.
