author:Beijing News

Beijing News (reporter Wang Ziyang) On October 13, the Beijing News reporter learned from Starbucks that the Starbucks Reserve "Tianzuo Zhihe" comprehensive coffee beans cooperated with Yunnan coffee farmers and the Sun-dried Coffee Beans of Hongfeng Farm in Yunnan Province have been listed in the Starbucks Reserve Shanghai Roastery workshop and Starbucks National Reserve Stores, which is also the fifth consecutive year that Starbucks China has launched the Reserve Yunnan Coffee Beans.

Launch of The Reserve Yunnan Coffee Bean is part of Starbucks' Yunnan "Star" program. In 2012, Starbucks Yunnan "Star" program was launched, and the first grower support center in The Asia-Pacific region was established in Puer, Yunnan, which has now covered every link of the entire industry chain from coffee planting and processing to roasting and retail. In addition to helping coffee farmers grow coffee, Starbucks also put forward the concept of "high quality and good price" in the local area, not only purchasing high-quality coffee beans at a price of 20%-30% higher than the average market price, but also giving additional rewards to specialty coffee beans that meet or even exceed Starbucks procurement standards, which enhances the enthusiasm of coffee farmers for growing specialty coffee.

Since the establishment of the Yunnan Growers Support Center in 2012, as of the end of August 2021, a total of 27,249 coffee farmers have been trained to pass the "Coffee and Grower Fair Code" (c.a.f.e. Practice) certified farms reached 2,383, with a cumulative certified area of 20,200 hectares, which is equivalent to about 303,000 mu. At present, Starbucks has launched a total of 10 Yunnan coffee beans in China, including 8 premium grade Yunnan coffees.
