Last weekend the WTCC World Touring Car Championship was held in Germany, and the drivers competed at the legendary "Green Hell" Nürburgring. Racing on such a challenging track, I really want to sweat for the runners. First of all, there is good news that Chinese driver Ma Qinghua finished 5th in the first round on such a difficult track, and then Citroën team once again unsurprisingly finished in the top three of the overall results, with Lopez, Müller and Loeb in the top three.

Living up to the fame of "Green Hell", there was a crash at the beginning of the German station, and the second Chevrolet team player Valentin and the fourth Honda team player Mechelis were the two unfortunate participants in the accident, the former eventually withdrew. The collision between the two of them allowed the third-placed Loeb to overtake the second, and the sixth-placed Mueller chased straight after the third Loeb. In fact, it was not this collision that caused Valentine to retire, but in the second lap due to the fight with Honda driver Montero, the cut was too aggressive and led to a runaway crash, becoming the only sad driver in the second lap.
The off-putting start was also for Chevrolet driver Coroneell, who crashed at Turn One and had to return to the pit lane after one lap, while Rada's Hof also unfortunately broke the shock absorber on the first lap and retired. Hove's New Rada team-mate Ragan went well, overtaking De Mosdir, who was driving a Chevrolet car, on the first lap and Philippe, the second Chevrolet driver. In the end, he chased from the 17th place to the 11th place. Chinese driver Ma Qinghua finished in fifth place with a qualifying time of 3.925 seconds behind the pole and finished in fifth place.

In the second leg, Müller started from fifth, corner 1 has grabbed third place, and corner 3 surpassed Honda driver Tacquini to advance to second place, followed by Honda driver Montero who started from pole position. Müller, who took a low-pressure aggressive adjustment, used his speed advantage to overtake Montero in the straight line back into the leading position and finally won the second leg.
Lopez started in tenth place and advanced to sixth place at the end of the first lap. Ma Qinghua overtook fellow driver Bernani in the straight line section of the Nürburgring to advance to fourth place, while Lopez overtook Bernani in the South Loop for fifth place. As a result, Ma Qinghua unfortunately slipped out of control on the final lap, and teammate Lopez had to slow down and fall out of the first camp to avoid Ma Qinghua, behind teammate Muller and Honda's Taquini. The straight-line section of the Nürburgring became the citroën's main attacking position, where Lopez caught up and overtook Thaquini to second place, trailing Mueller to the final race.

So far, Citroën's three main players will occupy the top three positions in the drivers' standings, and Chinese driver Ma Qinghua is temporarily fifth among all 21 drivers. Next on June 5-7, the drivers will have their next race in Russia, which will be another big battle, so let's wait and see. (Text/Autohome Xu Yunhe, picture from the Internet)
