Today is the 85th anniversary of Mr. Lu Xun's death, and October 17 is the 16th anniversary of Ba Jin's departure from readers, showing the friendship and spiritual inheritance between Lu Xun and Ba Jin, and carrying forward the spiritual style of the two literary masters, the "Salary Transmission" Lu Xun and Ba Jin Photo Exhibition opened yesterday at the Xuhui District Tourism Public Service Center. The joint exhibition of Lu Xun and Ba Jin, two literary masters, was the first in Shanghai.

"That person is more serious than others" is Lu Xun's evaluation of Mr. Ba Jin, and it is also the title of the first part of the exhibition. The chapter traces the bits and pieces of Ba Jin's interaction with Lu Xun. From the time he read "The Diary of a Madman" in Chengdu as a teenager, Ba Jin was a loyal reader of Lu Xun, "Scream", "Wandering", "Weeds"... Ba Jin learned the method of writing from lu xun's works, comforted his depressed heart, and felt the grace of mr. sun. After participating in literary work, Ba Jin and Lu Xun had direct contact, compiling books, organizing manuscripts, talking at the same table, and then supporting and trusting each other. When Ba Jin was questioned by others, Lu Xun firmly sided with Ba Jin, endorsed him, and praised him as "a writer with enthusiasm and progressive ideas, a writer among the few good writers." After the death of Mr. Lu Xun, Ba Jin was very sad, saying that "all of a sudden we lost everything", and when he saw the article attacking Mr. Lu Xun, he even shouted angrily. From beginning to end, he has been a staunch defender of Mr. Mister. The two did not have much direct contact, but they did not contradict each other.
The novella, "We Have Never Forgotten Him", mainly displays Ba Jin's treasured books and objects related to Lu Xun, including Lu Xun's translations, Lu Xun's complete works, Lu Xun's complete manuscripts, Books compiled and printed by Lu Xun, and even envelopes for Lu Xun's commemorative activities and stamps of Lu Xun's head. He preserved everything he came into contact with related to Lu Xun, including a piece of paper. Ba Jin was hospitalized for a long time in his later years, and in the book he brought to the hospital, there was a pocket copy of Lu Xun's poems, and his family said that he often read and recited them in his hospital bed to exercise his memory. Barkin's collection of tens of thousands of books is not accidental, and it is no accident that he singled out this one.
"Following The Path of Lu Xun" is the next part of the exhibition, which tells the practical actions of Ba Jin to inherit and carry forward the spirit of Lu Xun. "In Memory of Mr. Lu Xun", "Mr. Lu Xun Ten Years Festival", "Remembering Mr. Lu Xun", "Autumn Night", "Mr. Lu Xun I Know"... Commemorating the article recalling Lu Xun, Ba Jin wrote one article after another.
Ba Jin has always followed Lu Xun's path, especially in his later years, and he has raised the banner of "telling the truth", which is a direct inheritance and development of Lu Xun's spirit of truly looking at life. Two generations of writers have passed on the spiritual torch of modern Chinese intellectuals.
Lu Xun is known as the father of China's emerging printmaking, the exhibition uses many famous printmakers woodblock prints, such as the printmaker Liu Dan's Lu Xun novel "A Q Zheng Biography" illustration, "Wild Grass" author portrait - Lu Xun, woodcarver Cao Bai's "Lu Xun's Lace Literature", calligraphy and painting artist Chen Guangzong's woodcut work "Lu Xun Statue", etc., the black and white contrasting sense of line, complements the layout design, the classical temperament is strong, and also pays tribute to the two masters from another angle.

A replica of "Night Notes" produced by Ba Jin's former residence was released at the exhibition site, "Night Notes is the first book published after Lu Xun's death, which has its special significance. Chen Zishan, librarian of the Shanghai Museum of Culture and History, professor of the Department of Chinese of East China Normal University, and vice president of the Ba Jin Research Association, introduced. In addition to the "Literary Series" edited by Mr. Barkin, the book has not been reproduced for seventy years, and this replica is launched to commemorate the literary friendship of the two predecessors, and also hopes to concretely present and inherit the new literary spirit in this form.
"Ba Jin and Lu Xun have a lot in common, they are by no means vulgar, never superficial, and never false, which is a profound enlightenment for generations of writers." Pan Xiangli, winner of the Lu Xun Literature Prize and vice chairman of the Shanghai Writers Association, explained the spiritual background of the two in this way.
