Zhang Xiaoai is both the daughter of Beizhu Village and the daughter-in-law of Beizhu Village. Zhang Xiaoai was born in Beizhu Village to a poor peasant family. The hardships of childhood made Zhang Xiaoai determined to strengthen herself. Around 1982, in her early 20s, she bought a noodle rolling machine and started her first business. From a noodle hanging machine to a noodle factory, expanded into a flour mill. After the flour mill business was in trouble, in 1998 it started again: dairy cattle and beef cattle breeding, and the scale of breeding was developed to more than 50 dairy cows and more than 740 beef cattle per year. The experience of entrepreneurship has honed his pragmatic and hard-working character and not giving up lightly.
At that time, the two committees of Beizhu Village were not united, the village was unstable, and it was urgent to need a person to change the situation. After a comprehensive inspection by the higher-level party committee, it set its sights on Zhang Xiaoai, who was appointed acting village chief of Beizhu Village. In the face of the mess in front of her, Zhang Xiao'ai has no bottom in her heart, but she has a momentum of not accepting defeat, and the more difficult it is, the more she has to do it.
"As village cadres, we must bear hardships first, not be afraid of difficulties, serve the masses, and let the masses see hope." By the end of December 2004, when the village committee chairman was officially elected, Zhang Xiaoai was elected as the chairman of the village committee with 98 percent of the vote. Zhang Xiao'ai recalled the election at that time and said that there was an old man who particularly touched her.
On the day of the election, Zhang Xiao'ai returned from running errands for the villagers from outside, and happened to encounter a villager pushing an old man in a wheelchair to the scene to vote. Zhang Xiao'ai bitterly rebuked the villagers who pushed the wheelchair: "Why let the old man vote by himself!" Who knew that the old man replied, "I am afraid that my family will not vote for Xiao Ai." Hearing the old man's words, Zhang Xiao'ai was in the same place on the spot, and his heart could not be moved. In 2005, she was elected village chief and secretary of the general branch of the party. Soon, she turned the village into a united and harmonious "National Model Village for Respecting the Elderly and Loving the Young".
Zhang Xiaoai said that he made up his mind at that moment to make Beizhu Village rich and to let the villagers of Beizhu Village live a good life. In the following fourteen years, Zhang Xiaoai fulfilled his promise, not only led Beizhu Village to the road to prosperity, but also improved the atmosphere of Beizhu Village, introduced many colorful cultural activities, and built a harmonious, rich, beautiful and civilized Beizhu Village.

After being elected, Zhang Xiaoai is well aware of the weight of the burden on her shoulders, and she adheres to the concept of "developing the economy and grasping stability on two legs", leading the villagers to turn an 80-acre wasteland in the village into a fruitful vineyard, a wasteland of more than 100 acres into a breeding farm freely contracted by the villagers, and a 70-acre wasteland into an economic forest with fragrant apricots.
In addition to developing and utilizing the wasteland in the village, Zhang Xiaoai took advantage of the geographical advantages of the urban-rural junction of Beizhu Village, introduced a series of preferential conditions, and used all available social relations to build nests and attract phoenixes and attract investment. It has attracted more than 20 enterprises such as Dahua Garment Factory, High Frequency Welded Pipe Factory, Chain Factory, Miss Tangyuan, Fly Ash Sintered Brick Factory, etc., absorbing more than 600 people in the village, and also injecting strong impetus into the economic recovery of the village.
Nowadays, the average annual income of the villagers in Beizhu Village under the leadership of Zhang Xiaoai has reached five or six thousand yuan, and the people of Beizhu Village have begun to get rich. After the villagers got rich, Zhang Xiaoai found another problem, the villagers' entertainment activities are too few, and many people either get together to play mahjong or get together to play poker in their leisure time, Zhang Xiaoai realized that this problem must be solved. How to solve it? Zhang Xiao'ai thought of enriching the cultural life in the village, if the villagers had a favorite activity after work, naturally they would not get together to play cards.
So Hu Zhang Xiaoai organized a large pipe band composed of more than 60 people in the village, purchased two sets of performance costumes in winter and summer, and often participated in performances. A martial arts team of more than 500 people was formed, martial arts performance equipment was purchased, and 4 tiger performance teams were formed to perform martial arts performances. In addition, Beizhu Village has set the annual Lunar New Year as the Beizhu Village Traditional Folk Culture Festival since 2012, and has been held for seven sessions this year. This year Chinese New Year's Eve night, a dumpling feast for 10,000 people was held, inviting the citizens of Jiaozuo to taste and spend the New Year with the villagers. Not only that, under the leadership of Zhang Xiaoai, the village committee has invested more than 300,000 yuan to build 3 cultural activity venues; invested more than 200,000 yuan, purchased and installed 95 pieces of fitness equipment, and built 10 fitness activity venues, providing leisure and entertainment places for the masses. Invested 100,000 yuan to purchase computers, electrical appliances, books, etc., set up a library, reading room, etc., to provide a good place for the masses to learn and read.
"Before the village didn't have these activities and facilities, there was no place to go after work, so I had to stay at home. Beizhu Village has a long history, and most of the people in the village are descendants of Zhang Fu, the envoy of Beipingbu, a major minister of the Ming Dynasty, and Zhang Xiaoai is also one of them.
Zhang Fu was a loyal vassal of Emperor Jianwen of Ming, and Zhu Di, the King of Later Yan, rebelled and replaced him with Emperor Jianwen, and Zhang Fu swore allegiance to Emperor Jianwen to the death, adhered to his integrity and did not yield, and died in the line of duty. Emperor Akihito rehabilitated him and was later enfeoffed several times, leaving a good story of a pure son Danxin in history.
The spirit of the ancestors is so singable and weeping that it must be passed on. Zhang Xiaoai took the lead in organizing forces to repair the Ancestral Hall of Zhang Hao, keeping in mind the ancestors. Today, there is a plaque on the door of the zhang fu ancestral hall with the words "Danxin Yao Ri" written on it to warn future generations to inherit the spirit of the ancestors and maintain a pure Dan heart. Zhang Xiaoai also mobilized the masses, went through the materials, and revised a family tree for Beizhu Village, so that every villager had a sense of belonging, so that the cohesion of Beizhu Village was further enhanced.
Zhang Fu Ancestral Hall is not only a key cultural relics protection unit in Henan Province, but also an activity center for the elderly in Beizhu Village and an internship base for the School of Architecture and Art Design of Henan Polytechnic University.
Beizhu Village has a population of 7100 people, of which 680 are over 60 years old, which is a well-known harmonious village and longevity village, with 1500 households in the village and 1200 "five good families". There are 64 existing courtyards in Beizhu Village, there are 116 single buildings with 388 rooms, most of them are residences from the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty to the Daoguang years, the architectural style is a typical courtyard complex in the north, the era from the end of the Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China, there are more than 300 years before and after, is one of the largest existing areas in Henan Province, the largest number of courtyards, and one of the well-preserved large-scale ancient villages. In 2013, Beizhu Village was included in the list of traditional Chinese villages. Due to the age and erosion of wind and rain, some ancient residential buildings in Beizhu Village have been in danger and need to be rescued, protected and repaired. Zhang Xiaoai won more than 5 million yuan in funds from the cultural relics department, and began to restore the ancient houses in Beizhu Village from April 19, 2016, and so far, more than 200 ancient houses have been repaired. Beizhu Village has been renewed, leaving nostalgia and looking forward to the future.

When talking about the future development plan of the village, Zhang Xiaoai said that the next step is to change the concept of development, change the previous extensive development model, and begin to pay attention to the environment, health and infrastructure. Shift the focus of development to the tertiary industry, take advantage of the east wind of rural revitalization and characteristic towns, and strive to build Beizhu Village into a "Situ Town" in Jiaozuo. "Treat the affairs of the village as your own family affairs, treat the villagers as your brothers and sisters, and treat Beizhu Village as your own home."
