For some time now, some "Taiwan independence" diehards have vigorously cracked down on cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, undermined the political foundation for the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, persecuted people on the island who actively participated in cross-strait exchanges and forces advocating cross-strait reunification, and tried their best to smear the mainland and incite cross-strait confrontation. Some of them ostensibly "actively seek independence for the sake of the well-being of the Taiwan people," but behind their backs they greedily grab the dividends of cross-strait peaceful development, manipulate the "Taiwan independence" issue, and play tricks on the people's will on the island for their own profit. Cross-strait reunification is a major historical trend and a national task that absolutely needs to be accomplished, and the people on both sides of the strait will not allow such moths to erode the core interests of the Chinese nation.
