According to Noah outlaw, "Avengers series star Robert Downey Jr." may join the Star Wars universe.
In this deleted tweet, noah outlaw (a reliable source of Star Wars news and rumors) responded to rumors that the Iron Man actor might play Marshal Sauron in the upcoming Star Wars live-action movie, stating that "(Robert Downey Jr.) is not Sauron." Now, I would like to say... [Lucasfilm] has talked to [Downey] about plans to star wars in the future. ”
Ever since Asoka Thano mentioned Sauron in the latest season of The Mandalorian, fans have been speculating about who can/should play the character voiced by Russ Mikkelson in the animated series. Now it seems that Downey's name can be crossed off the list of potential Sauron actors....
But interestingly, Lucasfilm still seems intent on bringing the iconic actor into a Star Wars world filled with Jedi Knights, bounty hunters and cute little green aliens.
Will Downey play another role in Mandalorian, directed by old friend Jon Feiru? Or will the Marvel Cinematic Universe's biggest star to date play a role in the upcoming Star Wars movies directed by Taiga Viditti or Patti Jenkins?
So far, downey's fate in joining Star Wars is unclear, but if the tweet is to be believed, the two sides have at least communicated about it.
