Wu Qing said that as of the end of September 2021, there have been more than 1,200 artificial intelligence-related enterprises in Shanghai, and according to incomplete statistics, the industrial scale is currently more than 200 billion yuan. Leading enterprises such as Microsoft, Amazon, Alibaba, and Huawei have strengthened their layout in Shanghai, and technology companies such as SenseTime and Yitu have also continuously achieved breakthrough innovation results. Industrial agglomeration areas such as Pudong Zhangjiang, Xuhui West Bank, Minhang Maqiao, and Lingang New Area also continued to release innovation vitality. Multi-level innovation platforms such as Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and Magnolia Open Source Open Research Institute are playing an important role in supporting the research and development of key common technologies and the transformation of achievements.

Most importantly, Shanghai has gathered a group of artificial intelligence entrepreneurs and artificial intelligence professionals. According to incomplete statistics, more than 1/3 of domestic artificial intelligence talents gather in Shanghai.
