Liu Pu is a retired cadre of the Chengde County Cultural Relics Protection and Management Institute, engaged in cultural relics work for more than 30 years, a member of the Communist Party of China, a senior professional title of Wenbo, a member of the Hebei Writers Association, and enjoys special government allowances. After completing the retirement procedures at the beginning of 2014, he retired without rest, exerted his "residual heat", and became a "volunteer" of three departments at the same time, continuing to struggle on the front line of work.

The first is the volunteer of the county old district construction promotion association. Since Comrade Liu Pu has been engaged in cultural relics work for many years, investigating and studying the history of the old area is an important work content, and in the long-term work practice, he is well aware of the significance of understanding the voice of the old area and helping the development of the old area. After retirement, he took the initiative to find the leaders of the Old People's Promotion Association and asked to continue to contribute to the publicity of the old district. Over the past 5 years, he has followed the president of the Association for the Promotion of the Elderly throughout the county to carry out in-depth research and investigation, and published more than 30 articles in the media such as "Construction of Old Districts in China", "Old Districts in Hebei", "Chengde Daily", "Chengde County Weekly News" and China Old District Network, among which "Backward Villages in Those Years, Leaders today", "A Man and a Memorial Hall for The Martyrs of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression", "Wangjiazhuang, There Are No More Poor People", "Heroic Genealogy of Veterans of the War of Resistance", "Chengde Zhang's Embroidery, Embroidery out of the Old District of the Sky" and so on, which caused great social repercussions. In the second half of 2017, he accepted the task of compiling the "History of the Development of the Old Revolutionary Areas of Chengde County" by the County Elderly Promotion Association, and through in-depth research and repeated revision, after nearly a year of hard work, he completed a 220,000-word manuscript, which has been approved by the superior and published by the Unity Publishing House in August 2019. In the spring of 2019, his "Pear Blossom Manlu Sun Jiadian" attracted the attention of Wang Yumei, president of the Hebei Provincial Association for the Promotion of The Elderly, praising it as a practical research article. In 2016 and 2019, he was twice named "Advanced Individual in Propaganda Work in Old Districts" in the country. In 2018, when the Chengde County Elderly Promotion Association was replaced, he was elected as deputy secretary-general.

The second is to serve as a volunteer for county tourism work. Comrade Liu Pu has worked for 43 years, worked as a teacher, a creator of cultural centers, and struggled for cultural relics work for more than 30 years. In his own words, the "main business" is to engage in cultural relics, and the "side business" is writing and tourism. This "specialty" of his is valued by relevant leaders, and before he retires, he talks to him: "Don't go outside, help with tourism publicity." So he became a volunteer promoting tourism.

Chengde County is located on the outskirts of the famous historical and cultural city of Chengde City, with beautiful mountains and rivers in the territory, and has rich tourism resources. Comrade Liu Pu bravely shouldered heavy responsibilities and was willing to be a "volunteer" for tourism publicity. He sorted out the information he had and went to the tourist attractions in the county to conduct field investigations. He spent a lot of time and energy on writing, selecting photos, designing covers and illustrations during the day, and wrote a book manuscript of more than 60,000 words, "Mountains and Clear Waters, Natural Natural cheng- Traveling in Chengde County", and accompanied by more than 100 works taken by photographers in the county. In July 2014, it was published by China Tourism Publishing House. This painstaking book was widely praised as soon as it came out, and it had a great social impact.

At the same time, under the arrangement of the leadership, Liu Pu also wrote articles on the scenic spots in the county, accompanied by photos, and publicized them in local newspapers, television, and the Internet. In particular, rural tourism, which has flourished in recent years, is respected by people inside and outside the industry, and Liu Pu has gone deep into the countryside many times, written a series of research articles and published them in newspapers and periodicals. In addition, he also wrote a number of research reports for the reference of leaders. In recent years, he has participated in the flower viewing festival and harvest festival in Weiziyu Village, Xincanzi Town, and the picking festival in Shenshuihe Village, eight hometowns, writing articles, taking photos, going to websites, holding exhibitions, assisting relevant departments to make rural tourism flourish, and further promoting the economic development of local agricultural products.

At the same time, in order to fully excavate the historical and cultural resources of the countryside and focus on creating charming villages, Liu Pu went deep into the townships and towns in the county, inspected and visited typical villages, especially villages with history and "stories", took photos and wrote articles to provide reference and reference for the construction of beautiful villages and the development of rural tourism. He submitted articles such as "Old Village, Old Tree, Old Man", "Good Big Tree", "The Bottom of the Willow Tree on the Warm River", "Wangjiazhuang of Happy Mountain Village" and other articles to the leaders for reference, and received great praise from the leaders: "Excavating history and building culture, I need such things too much!" In 2016, he edited "Village Stories" with materials from more than 40 villages in the county, which was affirmed by relevant leaders.

In the field investigation of the countryside, Comrade Liu Pu overcame many difficulties, pouring rain in Xiangshui ditch, drilling thorns in Peng Cane, climbing cliffs in SidaoHe, drilling caves in Man cane, and stinging bees in Tielian pits. The village cadre said: "There are not many people like you who are as desperate as you in these years. Comrade Liu Pu said modestly: "In order to accomplish something, we must not forget our original intention." ”

The third is the volunteer of the Customs Work Committee. Comrade Liu Pu pays great attention to the school's off-campus education, and was once hired as an off-campus counselor by the county's Second Primary School. After retirement, at the invitation of the leaders of the county customs work committee, he participated in the relevant activities organized by the customs work committee, went deep into the community and school to carry out donation activities, and listened to the voices of teachers and students. He has written many reports for kindergartens and primary schools in the county, such as kindergarten festivals, Chinese culture activities in the fourth primary school, activities in writing "Fu" characters, poetry recitation activities, and so on. His article "Zhangying Primary School Carries Out "Intangible Cultural Heritage" into the Campus" was published in Chengde Daily, and "County Customs Work Committee Helps Poor Students" was published in the "China Torch" magazine of the State Customs Work Committee.

In addition, Comrade Liu Pu has also cooperated with the business staff of the county cultural center for many times, done a lot of investigation and research on intangible cultural heritage, and written a number of research articles to publicize "intangible cultural heritage", such as "Zhao Wenxiu's Shadow Puppet Life", "Centennial Pole Lifting", "Rehe Ear Pillow", "Bancheng Running Donkey", "Hanshan Hunting", "Tian's Acupuncture", "Shadow Collection Everyone Ma Demin" and so on. Some of these articles were published in newspapers, and "Zhao Wenxiu's Shadow Life" was also published in the "China Culture Newspaper".
