Dressed in life jackets, wearing duck tongue hats, driving storm boats, working with all forces for 12 hours continuously, rescuing and evacuating more than 30 victims of the disaster - during the transit of Typhoon "Lichma", Xu Yaping, a physical education teacher at Zhejiang University and a world champion in kayaking, spontaneously appeared at the rescue scene in Linhai City, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province.
"On the evening of the 10th, I saw in the circle of friends that someone forwarded the news that Linhai City was recruiting the driver of the storm boat, so I rushed over, and I didn't expect to be photographed." On August 12, Xu Yaping told the surging news (www.thepaper.cn) that water rescue is her profession, and since she has learned this skill, she should rush to the forefront as soon as necessary.
Born in 1982, Xu Yaping was the oarsman of the Chinese kayaking team, won four world championships from 2002 to 2006, retired to Zhejiang University as a physical education teacher, and successively became an international search and rescue stormtrooper rescue technical instructor and the first r4 female instructor in international water rescue iria Asia through training.
On the afternoon of the 10th, affected by the super typhoon "Lichma", the water level of the river in Taizhou Linhai City rose sharply, and the flood rushed into the city wall of Taizhou Capital, resulting in a depth of about 1.5 meters in the old city. Shi Jinbao, a Taizhou native, spontaneously bought 20 storm boats with friends and recruited drivers through WeChat.
That night, after Xu Yaping, who was in Hangzhou, learned of the situation, she immediately teamed up with the 3-member Zhejiang Huzhou Blue Sky Rescue Team, who also planned to rush to the rescue scene in the WeChat group, and took a throwing rope belt, life jacket, gloves, knife, whistle, warm clothing and so on to set off overnight.
"Along the way, we were constantly brushing rescue information, looking for a gas station to prepare oil for the storm boat, and arrived at the scene at about 2 a.m. on the 11th, and the group immediately went to work." Xu Yaping recalled that at that time, the rescue information was complicated and difficult to distinguish between true and false, but as long as they saw the news, everyone rushed to it immediately, preferring to run in vain and not miss it.
Due to the different depths of the local water, the water is floating with plastic bags, foam boxes and other debris, it is very easy to entangle the storm boat, Xu Yaping and others can only drive the boat for a while and go into the water to push the boat, which is very exhausting, "The specific number of trips has not been remembered, at that time I thought I could save a few more people, and by 2 p.m. on the 11th, the rescue ended, and everyone did not rest for a moment." When talking about being photographed during her rescue and posted to the Internet, Xu Yaping was "a little embarrassed", saying that she was just a screw in the rescue team and should be done.
