The custom of lion dance, the inheritance of ancient dragon boat skills, the taboo of not eating duck, the refreshing sand shoots without slag, the lotus flowers that are full of fragrance in summer... A group of Chancheng tourism editors walked into the ancient Zhangcha Liantang Village and took you to appreciate the unique charm of Liantang.
Liantang Village is located 5 kilometers southwest of Zhangcha, bordering Haikou Village to the east, Dongping River to the south, Cuntou Village to the west, Dafu Village and Cunwei Village to the north, and one kilometer away from Wang Lugang.
Uncle Guang tells the story: Liantang deep alley, ancient rhyme and quiet
Following the local villager Uncle Guang, we crossed the lake in Liantang Park and gradually penetrated into the interior of Liantang Village. Walking in Liantang Village, you can find that the alleys here are very narrow and accessible in all directions. The alley is not exactly the ancient building of the past, the change of the times and the rapid development of the economy have brought new residential buildings, only by going to the depths of the alley, you can find some ancient houses.

Through the local ancient alley, you can see that some of the alley walls are paved with "red rice stone" and "green brick" that have been preserved before, and there is a sense of returning to the old days in a trance...

Crossing another laneway, an ancient artillery tower stands quietly on the side of the road. Uncle Guang introduced that this was the village entrance gun tower of Liantang Village - Dashan Gate Tower, which had hung a "Liantang" plaque on it. In the 1960s, the building was demolished and stone was used to build an air raid shelter, leaving only the remnants of the base.

Through one alley after another, Uncle Guang took us to stop at No. 5, Lane 4, Sankou Street, Liantang Village.
This is an ancient building, the years have made its outer wall begin to fall off, the mural on the door number is also blurred, but when it comes to this ancient house, the people of Liantang Village are known to everyone, and its first owner is Chen Ruyue, the founder of Foshan's "Jade Ice Burning", so it is also known as "Taishidi". In Liantang Village, 99% of the people's homes are surnamed Chen, also because most of the people here are descendants of Chen Ruyue.

In Liantang Village, there were original ancient buildings such as Kangle Ancestral Hall, Chen Ancestral Hall, Zhuofeng Chen Gong Ancestral Hall, Lianxi Chen Gong Ancestral Hall, Hengzhai Chen Gong Ancestral Hall, TaishiDi and other ancient buildings, but now, only chen ancestral hall, Hengzhai Chen Ancestral Hall, Taishidi temple remain, and the others have been demolished. Chen Ruyue's former residence has been vacant for many years, but every New Year's Day, Chen Ruyue's descendants will still return here and change a new couplet for him, and this habit continues to this day.

In the process of continuing to go deep into liantang ancient alley, a building with red paper and black writing "Hengzhai Gong ancestral hall" was found, which is one of the few remaining ancient buildings "Hengzhai Gong ancestral hall". However, it is also idle and unattended, and it is expected to be repaired in the near future.

When I came to Liantang Village, I had to go to the Chen Ancestral Hall. It is understood that in ancient times, it was required that the male members of a clan should have 3,000 people to establish a ancestral hall, otherwise it can only be called a world temple, so when the ancestral hall is established, it is called a world temple. When it was rebuilt in 1996, it was renamed "Ancestral Hall" because the number of Chen men had reached tens of thousands.

The left and right walls of the ancestral hall are engraved with the "Monument to the Reconstruction of the North Ancestral Hall", which records the history of the ancestral hall: the ancestral hall was built in 1663 AD, which has a history of more than 300 years. At the beginning of liberation, the ancient shrine was used for school buildings; in 1966, it was changed to a refractory factory and an aluminum casting factory, and later used for villagers to set up banquets. It is said that before the restoration, the ancestral hall was equipped with fluorescent lamps and large ceiling fans, and later replaced with palace lamps with a classical temperament.

There is an ancient wooden dragon boat placed on the left side of the ancestral hall, according to Uncle Guang, this dragon boat is a racing boat, which has a history of nearly 90 years and is now placed in the ancestral hall as a cultural relic.

On the ground to the right of the ancestral hall is a stone plaque with the word "Lotus Pond" written on it, and Wu Daorong.

"Liantang Lion Awakening" is a traditional activity that has been passed down for thousands of years in Liantang Village, which is particularly important in the eyes of the locals. Liantang lion awakening activities have been well inherited by the children in Liantang Village, and many primary school students will practice on the big stage with the lion awakening coach during the summer vacation, and the youngest has just entered primary school.

Competitive dragon boats
The competitive dragon boat is another characteristic traditional activity in Liantang Village, where there are three existing "eleven dragons", one of which was custom-built in Guangzhou in the 1920s. After completion, it has been nearly 90 years since the villagers selected the pickpockets to be transferred directly from Guangzhou. Every year during the Dragon Boat Festival, the villagers will put "dragon boat rice" after holding the dragon boat race, and on June 27 this year, the villagers of Liantang placed a full 91 "dragon boat rice" in the "Recreation Building" on the square, which shows the great momentum.

Now that the new dragon boat dragon and lion training base has begun to take shape, I believe that in the near future, the villagers will be able to conduct lion dance training in the new training base.

The lake in Liantang Park is full of lotus flowers, although it is the end of summer, but still faintly see a few elegant lotus flowers standing on the lake, the breeze blows, bringing a burst of lotus fragrance.
The flowers and leaves of the world are not compatible, and the flowers are dusted into the golden pots of leaves. Only the green lotus red han, the curl shu open and close Ren naïve.
With Liantang Park as the center, opposite is the "Landmark Tower" of Liantang Village, which was transformed from the former Liantang Village Fort and has now become a landmark building of Liantang Village.
