Correspondent Ding Feng reporter Chen Wenlong The picture was provided by the Anji County Forestry Bureau "Looking at the dark brown dorsal line on this back ridge, it can be determined that it is a national first-class wild protected animal - a wild sika deer from South China!" "When I went to work on National Day, when I received a confirmation call from experts in the province, Pan Deshou, deputy head of the Resources Section of the Forestry Bureau of Anji County, was extremely excited, which was a major discovery! It is proved that there is a small population of wild sika deer on The Dragon King Mountain.

Male and female wild sika deer appear on Ryuoo Mountain, and they are likely to be "in love"

Longwang mountain nature reserve, adjacent to Lin'an Qingliangfeng Nature Reserve (35 kilometers in a straight line), covers an area of more than 18,000 mu, where there is a famous endemic species in Zhejiang - Anji Xiaoni (an amphibian, endemic to China). This time the wild sika deer was discovered thanks to an infrared camera.

In mid-August this year, in order to observe wildlife resources, the Anji County Forestry Bureau installed six infrared automatic cameras in the Longwangshan Nature Reserve. This kind of camera is worth thousands of yuan each, generally tied to the trunk, about half a meter high from the ground, rainproof, the battery can be used for several months at a time, and the infrared automatic sensing distance is 10-15 meters. As long as the animal with body temperature passes nearby, it will automatically sense to take pictures (3 photos per induction), and the light is insufficient to take a black and white image, and when the light is enough, it is taken as a color photo.

Around the National Day, Pan Deshou and others went to Dragon King Mountain to get the memory card of the infrared camera and went back to the office to watch one by one.

Infrared camera display:

At 7:00 a.m. on September 1, a female wild sika deer walked in front of the infrared camera, leaving a clear first half of the figure, and the white spots on her body were vividly remembered;

At 17:37 p.m. on October 8, a male wild sika deer slowly passed in front of an infrared camera.

Other cameras have also photographed several wild sika deer, but the image is relatively blurry, whether it is the above two wild sika deer, it is still uncertain.

Pan Deshou said that before, Anji found that the last time the wild sika deer was recorded was in 1992, the villagers powered a sika deer-like animal, more than 100 pounds, the meat and skin were divided by the villagers, leaving only a little bone, identified by DNA as a wild sika deer. Now, 24 years later, the wild sika deer have reappeared on Ryuoo Mountain, and there are both males and females, who have stayed and foraged, indicating that at least one small population has made a home here, proving that the biodiversity of Ryuoo Mountain is recovering.

Animal experts from the Provincial Forestry Department said that sika deer like to move in the edge of the woodland, August to October is the breeding period of sika deer, Dragon King Mountain has female deer, there are male deer, and the stay time is relatively long, it is speculated that it should be a small population in this area.

Infrared cameras also captured the extremely rare "four unlike" iguanas weighing 300-400 pounds

This time, the infrared camera secretly photographed the uninvited guests in the Dragon King Mountain, as well as the national second-level wild protected animals liè (liè) antelope, spoon chicken, white quail (xián), yellow chamois and so on.

Among them, the iguana is the rarest, strange appearance, its horns like deer are not deer, hooves like cattle are not cows, head like sheep is not sheep, tail like donkeys are not donkeys, in the folk called "four unlike", weighing 300-400 pounds, it is a lone walker among herbivores.

At 10 a.m. on Sept. 1, a male iguana watched with his back to the infrared camera lens.

The white bird is a special bird of Asia, which has historically been distributed in Southeast Asia; it is commonly found in China south of the Yangtze River, of which Yunnan may be the origin of the white bird, and the southwest region of Zhejiang is also its traditional distribution. When the male is courting, he walks around the female and has a tail swing, winging and other actions; in the winter, he lives in groups, usually barks less, and emits a harsh ji-go, ji-go or sharp whistle when alerting, and the male bird emits a gentle lu, lu, lu, lu during the courtship period. Crying, often whispering when eating. It was introduced to Europe in the 18th century and was bred by the nobles of various countries.

In the Qing Dynasty, the clothing pattern worn by civilian officials in the office was always to distinguish between high and low ranks with birds, and the work clothes pattern of the five products of civil officials (equivalent to the current departmental officials) was the white bird. In addition, the mascot of the Hani tribe is also a white bird.

The most common occurrence of white storks is in Datianping, Longquan Fengyang mountain national nature reserve, and since 2011, Zhejiang has photographed white birds more than 20 times.

What other rare animals have appeared in Zhejiang?

Black bear Yellow-bellied horned pheasant Chong'an di lizard

After decades of closed mountains and forest cultivation, the forest vegetation in the Zhejiang Ecological Reserve is getting better and better, and there are more rare wild animals? It is very difficult to come up with specific physical evidence.

For a long time, forestry departments and researchers have wanted to find wild animals, and there are two ways: either based on animal feces and footprints; or carry equipment, climb over mountains and mountains, and wait for several months, and the probability of photographing them is lower than winning the lottery.

Since 2009, in the 8 national nature reserves in Zhejiang Province, More than 90 infrared automatic cameras have been successively deployed in Kaihua Gutian Mountain, Lin'an Qingliangfeng, Taishun Wuyanling, Longquan Fengyang Mountain, and Suichang Jiulong Mountain.

According to the image records reported by the Provincial Forestry Department in various places:

The black bear (a national second-class wild protected animal), at 6 o'clock on June 9, 2011, appeared in Kaihua Gutian Mountain, and it was still struggling to shape the camera. It is the first time since 1999 that Zhejiang Province has obtained evidence of the survival of black bears in the wild. It shows that in the past 11 years, the black bear species has not disappeared in Zhejiang, which is quite significant!

From November to December 2012, in Taishun Wuyanling National Nature Reserve, Zhejiang took the first photo of the wild yellow-bellied horned pheasant "group gathering", and the largest number of yellow-bellied horned pheasants gathered together.

Chong'an lizard, was included in the "national protection of beneficial or important economic and scientific research value of the terrestrial wildlife list", broken tail survival is its unique life, only in southern China, there is no distribution in other parts of the world, so its preciousness is no less than the national treasure giant panda - October 4, 2012 at 12 noon, Taishun Wuyanling Nature Reserve, it was photographed, determined to be the first time in the history of Zhejiang, and was later included in the distribution record of new species in Zhejiang Province.

The Provincial Forestry Department said that capturing wild animals with infrared cameras is a move to try new, and later through the study of these precious photos, first figure out the distribution of these wild animals, and then gradually realize the dynamic monitoring of the population and number of rare wild animals in the province.
