The University of Oklahoma named the Performance Center after Griffin's last name

Today, Pistons player Blake Griffin returned to his alma mater, the University of Oklahoma, to attend the opening ceremony of the "Griffin Family Performance Center".

The performance center includes a basketball training ground, gymnasium, locker rooms, medical rehabilitation areas, and an energy station.

Among the basketball players who went out of the University of Oklahoma, Griffin's donation amount was the first. He helped build the $7 million performance center.

"I'm a little flattered," griffin said, "and my family's name is put on it... This is something I am very proud of. ”

The school board reportedly initially agreed to name the center after Griffin, but Griffin wanted to name it after the family name. Griffin said his brother, Taylor Griffin, also helped with the planning.
