As far as the works are concerned, Zhang Song's landscape paintings emphasize the realization of self-unity and consistency on the basis of natural beauty. His paintings, loose with the pen and introverted with ink, are subtle and emphasize rhyme, paying great attention to the attention and integration of cultural connotations, and intending to convey the special beauty and meaning of Chinese culture.

Zhang Song's landscape paintings tend to be quiet and super-comfortable in aesthetic orientation, and like to express the novelty and artistic sense contained in the bosom between calm brushstrokes, showing the charm of beauty. It is not difficult to see that Zhang Song's landscape paintings use pen and ink to express the perception and aesthetic pursuit of life on the basis of excavating natural beauty. In his light and simple brush and ink, what is contained is the soul of the local homeland, so that the landscape imagery in the picture is sublimated into a spiritual realm, reaching the depths of history, culture, and soul.

It is worth mentioning that Zhang Song's landscape paintings are basically extracted from a large number of sketches, so they have great significance at the level of modeling. Therefore, reading Zhang Song's landscape paintings in a certain sense makes us understand such a truth: like the paintings of the Jin, Tang and Song dynasties, the painterliness of the paintings is the first. This does not mean that cultural appeals are not paid attention to, on the contrary, it is to extract the cultural nature of painting itself. In this way, Zhang Song's landscape paintings have more practical significance in exploring the richness of painting language and the beauty of form.

Indeed, starting from the depiction of natural beauty, it is found that the thinking, concepts and mental images expressed on this basis that arise from the meaning of modeling are what Chinese painters need to seriously think about and treat. Therefore, the efforts to excavate the natural beauty and the cultural beauty, artistic beauty and mental image beauty that arise from it have achieved Zhang Song's painting art. As a contemporary painter, Zhang Song positioned his art in the context of contemporary culture. In the process of inheritance and innovation, he has established his own artistic goals and directions in inheriting the past and enlightening the future. In the creation of landscape painting, he focuses his attention on the real world, and expresses the harmonious unity of man and nature in his works, and expresses the desire and pursuit of natural beauty of contemporary people. This natural beauty of the mental pursuit is the most vivid example.

The greatest success of Zhang Song's landscape paintings lies in his vivid and specific depiction of Huishan Huishui with traditional brush and ink techniques, which are sincere expressions of his inner world emotions.
