Father's guard years
Laoshan rescues Zhou Enlai
Tell the story of Kang Xiaoping sorting out Xia Ling
The name of the Central Guard Regiment may not be unfamiliar, but when it comes to what the cadres and soldiers of the Guard Corps do every day during the war years, I am afraid that few people know.
In 1936, when the Xi'an Incident occurred, Kang Nianxiang was in the Special Mission Regiment of the Central Military Commission, and then transferred to the Central Guard Battalion as the commander of the first company, responsible for the protection of the leading comrades of the Party Central Committee. He repeatedly told his son Kang Xiaoping about that unforgettable history. Today, although Kang Nianxiang has passed away, from the mouth of his son Kang Xiaoping, we can still restore the combat history of the central guards.
Kang Nianxiang, born in 1910, is a native of Ji'an, Jiangxi. He joined the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in 1930, joined the Communist Party of China in 1933, served as a guard in the Red 12th Army, the Red First Army, and the Central Guard, and served as an internal guard in the Zunyi Conference during the Long March; during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he experienced the Battle of Jurong Mountain and the "anti-sweeping" of Dawu Mountain; during the War of Liberation, he participated in the Battle of Xinkailing, the Battle of Tashan, the Battle of Pingjin, and the Battle of Hengbao. He was awarded the rank of colonel in 1955. After the founding of New China, he successively served as the deputy director of Hangzhou Iron and Steel Factory, a member of the Standing Committee of the Discipline Supervision Commission of Zhejiang Province, and the deputy director of the Zhejiang Provincial Material Bureau. He died in 1986.
The first battalion of the Cpc Central Committee stationed in Yan'an was ordered to defend the Party Central Committee
After the Xi'an Incident, Zhang Xueliang, a general of the Northeast Army, ceded yan'an and Qingyang in Gansu to the Red Army in accordance with the anti-Japanese national united front agreement with the Communists. On January 13, 1937, the central organs of the Communist Party of China were moved from security to Yan'an.
Kang Xiaoping said that at that time, his father, Kang Nianxiang, was in the first company of the first battalion of the Special Service Regiment of the Central Military Commission. In order to strengthen the security work of the central organs, in March, the special task force regiment was transferred to the Central Committee of the Yan'an Security Party on the orders of the Central Committee and Comrade Peng Dehuai. On April 16, under the leadership of battalion commander Xie Guowen and political commissar Yan Xiong, the first battalion set off from Yunyang Town and arrived in Yan'an a week later.
After arriving in Yan'an, the first battalion held a battalion-wide military meeting on the playground west of the Bell and Drum Tower in the city, announcing that the first battalion of the special service regiment was reorganized into a guard battalion of the Central Military Commission. Commander-in-Chief Zhu De and Director of the Rear Political Department of the Red Army Tan Zheng personally attended the meeting, and Zhu De said: "Now that Yan'an has just been liberated, there are many bandits in the vicinity, and the activities of counter-revolutionaries are rampant, and we must vigilantly and conscientiously and conscientiously defend the Party Central Committee and ensure the safety of the Central Committee..." After the meeting, Tan Zheng personally convened a meeting of cadres at and above the platoon level of the whole battalion, which specifically explained the significance of defending the Party Central Committee and put forward demands.
Kang Nianxiang's first company served as a guard for Qingliangshan, Baotashan and the airport in Yan'an, and set up checkpoints in Sanlipu, south of Yan'an, mainly to check suspicious pedestrians.
Zhou Enlai went to Xi'an Road to encounter bandits and successfully escaped danger
On April 25, 1937, Zhou Enlai, Zhang Yunyi, Kong Shiquan and other CPC deputies went to Xi'an in a military open-top truck to prepare to go to Lushan, Jiangxi Province, to continue negotiations with Chiang Kai-shek on the issues of the reorganization of the Red Army and the joint resistance against Japan.
Zhou Enlai sat in the co-pilot's seat, Zhang and Kong sat in the carriage, and there were 25 reporters, interpreters, guards, and drivers in the whole car. Because at that time, the Northeast Army, the Northwest Army and the Red Army had a secret united front agreement, and everyone did not worry too much on the way.
Unexpectedly, when the truck drove to the vicinity of Laoshan in Ganquan County, 30 kilometers south of Yan'an, it was suddenly attacked by more than 100 bandits. After receiving the information that a military truck had passed by, li Qingwu, the leader of the bandits, led the bandits over Longpan Mountain overnight and ambushed them in the hinterland of Laoshan Mountain, preparing to rob the truck.
"Of course, they didn't know that there was no money in the car, nor did they know that zhou Enlai and members of the central delegation were on the car, otherwise they wouldn't have dared to touch this truck." Kang Xiaoping said.
Something happened as the truck pulled into the col. "Yikes! Yikes! "Several gunshots rang out.
Long experience in revolutionary combat and vigilance made Zhou Enlai immediately realize the seriousness of the situation. He ordered the driver to increase the throttle and rush from the bottom of the mountain to the mountain beam to get rid of the enemy. However, the mountain beam suddenly burst into flames like fried beans, and the bandits' machine gun rifles swept toward the big truck, and the driver was shot and fell on the driver's seat, the jam wheel was faltered, and the head of the car was tilted and stopped.
Almost at the same time, Zhou Enlai flew out of the car and ordered: get out of the car, disperse, and return fire. While drawing his gun, General Zhang Yunyi instructed Zhou Enlai's aide-de-camp Li Youcai and guards to cover Zhou Enlai's transfer, while the rest occupied favorable terrain on the spot and organized resistance. The soldiers and platoon leaders of the guard squad were all killed one after another, and after Zhang Yunyi was wounded, he and Zhou Enlai, Kong Shiquan and other 4 people were prominently surrounded.
It was urgent to rush to Laoshan with all his might
At that time, Kang Nianxiang and his company of guards had just arrived in Yan'an for two days, and the company of guards was set up at the checkpoint of Sanlipu. After hearing the loud gunshots in the direction of Laoshan and receiving a report from a guard soldier who rushed out, he knew that Zhou Enlai was in distress, so he quickly reported the news to Yan'an. Mao Zedong immediately summoned Huang Lin, head of the Central Guard Regiment, to arrange a rescue mission. "The guard regiment immediately organized a cavalry rescue team, and at that time there were not enough horses, so Mao Zedong, Zhu De, and other central leaders let the horses out and gave them to the guard regiment rescue team," Kang Xiaoping said.
The area around the Thirty Mile Shop was the guard range of the first company, and Kang Nianxiang was familiar with Zhou Enlai and other leaders, so he naturally served as the captain of the first team and led the thirty or forty people in the company to set off first.
With an emergency assembly and a passphrase, the cavalry rescue team completed a series of maneuvers and set off. At that time, each person had a shell gun, a submachine gun, and a large knife, and they quickly fled to the scene of the accident. "Everyone clamped their legs, swung their horse whips quickly, and rushed toward Mount Lau lifelessly." His father, Kang Nianxiang, told Kang Xiaoping.
Fortunately, the robbers saw that there was no money on the truck, and found Zhou Enlai's business card on the sacrificed Li Youcai, knowing that there was a catastrophe, and frightened and hurriedly scattered. When the cavalry rescue team rushed to the Thirty Mile Depot, only Zhou Enlai, Zhang Yunyi, Kong Shiquan and other 4 people were able to escape from danger and come to the station. So the cavalry rescue team escorted the chief back to Yan'an.
"In this rescue, although my father did not fight, he was very proud, and zhou Enlai's image in his father's heart was too perfect, and he liked to tell us about this rescue operation and his feelings." Kang Xiaoping said his father told him that the bandit leader Li Qingwu's team was later suppressed by the Red Army, and Li Qingwu was also shot and suppressed.
