As one of the world's leading exhibitions of collectible design, design miami/this year for the first time placed its Asian debut in Shanghai. Since yesterday, the exhibition has invited a total of 30 art galleries and exhibitors from all over the world to carefully present collector-level design treasures around the theme of "Sense of Things: The Art of Design".
According to reports, design miami/ attracts influential collectors, designers and design studios, artists, brands, galleries, cultural institutions, curators, patrons and so on in the industry every year. The show is held twice a year in conjunction with Art Basel Miami Beach in December and Art Basel in Switzerland in June.
In Shanghai, the inaugural design miami/podium x shanghai chose the bund source one with a sense of history, creatively connecting time and space, and realizing the innovative dialogue between contemporary design art and historical architecture.
Echoing the resident collections in the architectural space, 5 gallery booths and 25 podium exhibitors brought international collectible design works: practitioners from the global field of contemporary art and design such as Jean Prouvé, Thomas Heatherwick, daniel arsham, virgil abloh, Chinese artists such as Ding Yi and Xu Zhen, and young art emerging artists such as Lin Fanglu, Bao Yang and Liu Wa. The exhibition coincides with Shanghai Art Week, adding new topics and energy to the strong and active artistic atmosphere in November.
As the co-organizer of design miami/podium x shanghai, Hantang Culture is also the operator of Bund Source One, and its director said that it will continue to work to promote cultural exchanges between China and the West and introduce "beauty" from all over the world to China.
