"This year, the research project on the standardized breeding and productive seedlings of soil shoots (coca-clopods) that I am responsible for has made a breakthrough, especially the optimization of the soil shoot breeding process, so that the output of soil shoots per mu has increased from 0.7 tons to 1.3 tons per mu, the output value of mu has reached more than 100,000 yuan, the profit per mu is nearly 50,000 yuan, and the enthusiasm of the masses for breeding is very high." Recently, in the Changchun soil shoot breeding base, Ye Qiwang said.
Ye Qiwang, director of Xiapu County Aquatic Technology Promotion Station, provincial science and technology commissioner, provincial top ten knowledge-based workers pacesetter, national "most beautiful agricultural technician", national "May Day" labor medal winner. In the post for more than 30 years, for the blue hope in his heart, Ye Qiwangqin has done projects, preached and educated people, served the people, worked intensively in fish and shrimp learning, and silently dedicated himself in ordinary posts, achieving extraordinary achievements.
Diligent projects bear fruit

The sea is the biggest advantage and the biggest resource of Xiapu. For fisheries, the demonstration and driving effect of the project is enormous. In the face of various aquaculture projects and research, Ye Qiwang has shown amazing perseverance and drilling strength.
"When I was 8 years old, my mother was a teacher in Taijiang, Xi'nan Town, and there was an aquatic products testing ground near the school, watching technicians come in and out, doing various experiments, envy." Ye Qiwang smiled and said that he planted the blue seeds at that time, and then was admitted to the Xiamen Fisheries College, which further strengthened his belief in returning to Xiapu to help aquaculture.
Just after graduation, Ye Qiwang participated in the national "Seventh Five-Year Plan" research project - research on the stocking technology and breeding effect of Chinese shrimp in the Togo Ocean, and was responsible for the wintering technology of Chinese shrimp. In order to devote himself to his work, he shaved his head, and did not go home for the New Year during the Spring Festival, sticking to the front line of production.
Once, when operating the bottom of the suction pool, he accidentally moved the glass cover of the outlet, the water "roared" to the drainage channel, seeing that the broodstock were in danger of being taken away, he could not take care of the other, grabbed a glass cover, immediately jumped into the pool water, and blocked the outlet in time. It was a cold winter moon, and his skin was purple with cold, and his upper and lower teeth were trembling.
In 2001, Ye Qiwang bred a large number of Penaeus vannamei fry for the first time in eastern Fujian, and in the same year, the demonstration of Penaeus vannamei culture was successful, which led to the cultivation of Penaeus vannamei in the city, and he was also awarded the chief expert of shrimp farming in Ningde City.
In 2004, Ye Qiwang participated in the major project of the Provincial Science and Technology Department, and he was responsible for the nursery of the mud pond of the large mudskipper, which had no precedent in the world at that time. In order to explore the spawning, hatching and growth patterns of juvenile fish in the earthen pond, he stationed himself in the countryside for a long time, accompanied by the scorching sun and mud, got up early to observe and test in the dark, and timely reflected the situation to the two professors of Xiamen University stationed at the Taijiang Test Field, jointly discussed and adjusted the test plan, and finally bred fry in the earthen pond for the first time. In 2006, the project was identified by the expert group led by Academician Lei Jilin as the large-scale earthen pond seedling technology of large mudskippers ranking at the international leading level.
In 2013, on the basis of years of projects, Ye Qiwang made subversive innovations in the traditional paradigm of large mudskippers from the four aspects of breeding mode, water level, fertilizer and harvesting, and summarized and created an efficient breeding model of large mudskippers, doubling the yield of more than one stubble per mu in one year, and promoting it in the province, with hundreds of millions of yuan in new benefits every year.
In addition, Ye Qiwang also took the lead in introducing the cultivation of spotted king, tabby squid, red hair, sea grapes, Ezo horse dung and sea urchin, all of which were successful. "This year, we declared the 'Northern Sea Urchin Species Moving South to Breed' project, hoping to build Xiapu into a southern sea urchin breeding base through several years of efforts." Ye Qiwang said that although his water technology station is small, it has always been at the forefront of aquaculture in the county and led The Continuous Progress of Xiapu Aquaculture. Ye Qiwang was also hired as a provincial science and technology commissioner for two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018.
Preaching and educating people will never regret it
Over the years, Ye Qiwang has taken advantage of opportunities such as squatting, seedling raising, implementing scientific research projects and going down to the front line of production to carry out experiments, demonstrations, promotions, disease prevention, etc., and do a good job in passing on and helping. A large number of students, assistants, and fishermen, whom he trained and supervised, were active on the fishing front.
It is better to teach people to fish than to teach people to fish. Since his work, Ye Qiwang has published more than 40 papers, and the quantity and quality are outstanding among the grass-roots technical personnel of the province's fishery system. He was diligent in summarizing and participated in the compilation of many teaching materials, including large yellow croaker, large mudskipper, shrimp farming, etc.
He was responsible for compiling the aquaculture planning for inland waters of Xiapu County; independently wrote the research on the current situation and sustainable development strategy of shrimp farming in Ningde City; participated in the compilation of the industry standard "Technical Specifications for breeding of yellow croaker"; participated in the editing of one of the "National Agricultural Vocational Skills Training Textbooks" for the compilation of the series of large yellow croaker farming technology books (initial, intermediate and high); authored the original electronic book "100,000 Whys of Smart Farmers" of CNKI" "50 Questions on the Breeding Technology of Large Mudskipper Fish"; and authored the "Mariculture Technology Q&A" published by the Provincial Science and Technology Publishing House. Chapter on the farming of mudskippers; participated in the compilation of the series of books "Research on the Development of China's Kelp Industry 2018".
For a long time, the fishermen of Xiapu County have basically been taught by Ye Qiwang in the cultivation of large yellow croaker, large mudskipper, shrimp and new species, and he has also absorbed the latest technology and made easy-to-understand courseware in combination with the actual local situation.
"I train thousands of fishermen every year, and it's 'hard' to teach these fishermen." Ye Qiwang said that the quality and degree of civilization of fishermen and peasants are slightly lower, as long as they do not like to listen, they will immediately pat their butts and leave, without considering the face and feelings of the teachers in class. How to attract students, do not let students slip away halfway, and pass on fishery knowledge to them unconsciously, which is a test of the teacher's skill. On several occasions, after speaking at a meeting of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, some members of the CPPCC National Committee privately asked Ye Qiwang if you had written a draft or memorized it.
"That's a lot of lessons for these picky students." Ye Qiwang said with a smile that the lecture should "watch the dishes and eat, tailor-made" and "go to what mountain to sing what songs", but also pay close attention to the movements of the students, once they find that they are stupid, they must immediately throw out one or two paragraphs to let them lift their spirits and continue to listen to the lectures. In addition, Ye Qiwang was also invited to teach in the province, the city and coastal cities and counties, providing consulting and training services.
Due to his outstanding performance in training, Ye Qiwang was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the China Vocational Education Society and the Association for Science and Technology in Xiapu County, a volunteer of the Science and Technology Service Team of the Xiapu County Customs Work Committee, an external expert of the marine aquaculture meteorological service of the County Meteorological Bureau, and a technical consultant of many aquatic companies and cooperatives.
Service for the development of the people
Ye Qiwang knows that marine aquaculture is changing and difficult. He often went deep into fishing rows, shrimp ponds and sea areas to solve the problems of fishermen, and holidays were no exception.
In January 2017, xiapu waihu sea area kelp rotten seedlings seriously, after hearing the news, the first time led the technical personnel to go deep into the sea area to investigate, and proposed a solution, more than 3,000 acres of kelp to avoid losses, the economic value of more than 60 million yuan.
One Sunday afternoon, Ye Qiwang was resting at home, and suddenly a rapid knock on the door sounded, and when he opened the door, he saw a strange lady with her head covered and her face pouring out, it turned out that the lady had kept abalone on the north wall, and had died several quintals a day these days. The lady was so anxious that she found Ye Qiwang. After a brief understanding of the situation, Ye Qiwang immediately drove more than 90 kilometers to the North Wall Fishing Row to solve the problem.
Xiapu County fishing row culture for many years, some of the sediment silt up to several meters, affecting the breeding conditions and aquatic environment. Seahorse teeth and sea grapes can both be eaten and can help ecological restoration, Ye Qiwang first introduced seahorse teeth and taught farmers how to raise them.
To produce better ecological benefits, sea grapes must also be planted. At that time, Liu Yanfei, a master's student at the Fujian Provincial Fisheries Technology Station, came to Xiapu to hang up his post, and Ye Qiwang learned that she had a lot of research in sea grape breeding, so he took the initiative to contact and cooperate with her.
In order to make the project run smoothly as soon as possible, he first advanced most of the funds. Sea grapes were imported from Vietnam, and on the day of arrival, he braved the sweltering heat and mosquito bites, clothed gas stones, made pattern frameworks, and removed diseased plants one by one... It was busy from noon until late at night.
Seeing Ye Qiwang, who is more than 50 years old, working with young people, Liu Yanfei said heartily: "Ye Station Manager is a cadre who is really doing experiments, and the only thing he thinks in his heart is that the experiments will be successful and bring benefits to the masses." With the efforts of him and his team, sea grapes have been successfully cultivated in natural sea areas and indoor cement ponds, and have been included in the national water technology promotion system development report as the technical achievements achieved in various places.
At the end of 2017, Xu Shuxi, the person in charge of the largest soil shoot breeding base in eastern Fujian, turned to the Xiapu County Water Technology Station for help, hoping to break the bottleneck of soil shoot seedling breeding through scientific research.
"Soil shoot culture seedlings mainly rely on the harvesting of wild resources, before 2015, the natural sea area near Xiapu could harvest about 200,000 kilograms of seedlings a year, and by 2017, even 50,000 kilograms of seedlings could not be harvested." Xu Shuxi said that the breeding of soil shoot insect seedlings has become an urgent need. Ye Qiwang helped carry out the "Research on Standardized Breeding and Productive Seedlings of Soil Shoots".
After four years of demonstration base construction, Ye Qiwang optimized the cultivation process of soil shoots, which not only reduced pollution and simplified the process, but also reduced the cost and improved the growth rate and yield of soil shoots.
"In recent years, it has cost tens of millions of yuan to rectify the interfluille rice grass in our county, but the results have been very small, so I changed my thinking and found that the soil shoots are very suitable for growing in the humus and hard soil of the alternate rice grass area." Ye Qiwang said that he promptly applied for the 2019 fishery structure adjustment project - "soil shoot ecological breeding technology" in conjunction with the Provincial Water Technology General Station, and now the project has been successfully accepted, and the resources of toyoyang soil shoots have been greatly restored.
For many years, for the sake of that blue hope, Ye Qiwang has always remembered that he is an ordinary scientific and technological worker, and he must dedicate his ingenuity to the fishermen. He firmly believes that dedication does not have to be earth-shattering and majestic, but can also be as silent as spring rain, like grass to dye the earth green, and shine in silent dedication.
