The person who said this sentence is Ding Lifa, director of the Wenling Aquatic Technology Extension Station and extension researcher.

It is such an ordinary and extraordinary grassroots fishing technology promoter, in his own job, for decades, silently cultivating, driving the new prosperity of Taizhou's aquaculture industry. Under his leadership and efforts, the precious mud cockles of the past were placed on the table of ordinary people, and the problem of artificial seedlings of green crabs was solved, and green crabs went to the world... In the face of this series of achievements, as a scientific and technological talent with 28 years of party experience, he smiled and said: "I just did what an aquatic technician and a Communist Party member should do." ”

Wisdom to the hometown, committed to aquaculture to increase income

In 1984, Ding Lifa entered Zhejiang Fisheries College with excellent results and began a four-year university life. "I came from a rural background, and when I filled out the volunteer form, the first thought that crossed my mind was an agricultural major." It was that idea that made Ding Lifa an expert in aquaculture.

After studying and practicing during the university period, in the year of graduation, the school's teachers intended to assign Ding Lifa to the Zhejiang Provincial Marine and Fisheries Research Institute. This is a provincial-level unit, and the quality requirements for graduates are also very high. However, this position that seems good to everyone, Ding Lifa, who is like an arrow, has not been moved by this. "After graduation, I thought about returning to my hometown, after all, my roots are in Wenling."

After returning to Wenling, Ding Lifa was assigned to the Xiaqi Shrimp Nursery of Wenling County Aquaculture Company. Since then, he has been engaged in the research and promotion of marine aquaculture technology, from the deputy director of the grass-roots front-line aquaculture company to the professional fishing technicians at the township level, from the science and technology commissioner to the director of the aquatic technology promotion station, conscientious, loyal to his duties, silently paying, and silently harvesting. The leaders who worked with him all said: "Comrade Ding Lifa is a good comrade with excellent political quality, outstanding professional level, and outstanding work performance. In the early 1990s, shrimp farming exploded with a global viral disease, and marine pond culture was in a slump. In order to get rid of the predicament and revitalize the aquaculture industry, in view of the reality of Wenling, Ding Lifa continued to grope, rushing to the pond of the farmer for three days to see how the shrimp fry grew, whether there was a disease, whether to change the water... As soon as the farmer saw something different, he called Ding Lifa, whether it was a weekend or after work, he always had everything he needed. After a period of practice, the Chinese shrimp, long-haired shrimp, ridge-tailed white shrimp and clams, mud cockles set rotation culture mode was explored, through three years of repeated experiments, the final research established the comprehensive breeding technology of the pond and the shrimp pond three stubble shrimp and shellfish culture technology, which was affirmed by aquatic experts, the technology is at the leading level in China, and won the first prize of Taizhou Science and Technology Progress Award. After the comprehensive promotion of comprehensive breeding technology in the city's 20,000 mu of ponds, the annual net increase in benefits is more than 50 million yuan, and it is promoted in a large area inside and outside the province. Nowadays, The villages of Dongmentou, Baibi and Shashan in Wenling have thus become professional villages for seawater pond aquaculture, which has long been famous in the province.

Make up your mind to overcome the problem of green crab seedlings

In 1996, Ding Lifa was hired by Wenling Haitian Aquatic Products Development Company to independently preside over the mud cockle factory seedling breeding project. The newly established Haitian Aquatic Products Development Company was located in the remote village of Dongmentou, Haijiao, where Ding Lifa lived in a simple shed made of asbestos tiles, and when it rained, the house would leak water, and it would not help to put a washbasin everywhere; in the summer, the house under the scorching sun was like a steamer. It was in this environment that Ding Lifa never went home to live for a day in the 4 months of the seedling period, cultivated 450 million mud cockle commodity seedlings, and created more than 2 million yuan for the company, which entered the ranks of advanced agricultural leading enterprises in Taizhou. In the following years, he presided over the seedling technology every year, accumulatively cultivated 4.2 billion mud cockle seedlings, solved the urgent need for mud cockle breeding and production at that time, and created more than 3.8 million yuan in profits for seed production units.

Blue crab is one of the main species of marine aquaculture in the coastal areas of Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong, but due to the different abundance of blue crab seedlings in natural sea areas, the development of the blue crab breeding industry has been restricted. In 1996, the Municipal Bureau of Fisheries and Oceanography set up a research group on "Research on Productive Seedling Technology of Saw-edged Blue Crab". Ding Lifa, who was a fishery technician in Songmen Town at the time, was already a well-known expert in aquatic seedling breeding technology, so he was borrowed and entrusted with a heavy responsibility to undertake the research of this topic. During the green crab seedling breeding period from April to August, Ding Lifa kept an eye on the nursery pond every day for 4 months, and always stayed until after 11 o'clock at night before going to sleep. In order not to affect the feeding and observation, when sleeping, you must use the BP machine to time, because the heart is always worried about those delicate green crab seedlings, and the result is that every time the BP machine rings, he wakes up. After three years of repeated experiments, the productive nursery of green crabs was finally successful. In August 1998, it passed the expert appraisal organized by the Science and Technology Department of Zhejiang Province, and the overall level was "internationally advanced and domestically leading". In that year, he won the first prize of Wenling City and Taizhou City Science and Technology Progress Award, and the third prize of Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.

Promote technology and open the door for farmers to get rich

The success of productive seedling breeding of green crabs did not make Ding Lifa complacent. Blue crab is the dominant species of marine aquaculture in Zhejiang, and in the past, most of them were extensively cultured, with low breeding technology and low yield. In order to change this situation, in 1999, with the strong support of the Taizhou Municipal Fisheries Bureau, Ding Lifa applied to the Provincial Bureau of Oceanography and Fisheries for the project of "Intermediate Cultivation and Breeding Technology of Saw-edged Blue Crab Artificial Seedlings". Through two years of implementation, 5.75 million baby crabs in phase III were cultivated, and the artificial breeding area of green crabs was promoted and implemented to 3182 mu, with an output value of 33.8 million yuan and a net profit of 12.32 million yuan. Won the first prize of the Ministry of Agriculture's Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fishery Harvest Award, and was recorded in the Taizhou Memorabilia of the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" period. Subsequently, he presided over the completion of the Provincial Science and Technology Department "Green Crab Intensive Breeding and High Yield Technology Development" project, through the series of research on the wintering of the plastic film greenhouse of green crab autumn seedlings, the cultivation of large-scale crab species of artificial seedlings, the cultivation of two stubble culture, low salinity breeding and other technologies, the first comprehensive summary of green crab breeding in China, the formation of a set of large-scale high-yield and efficient comprehensive breeding technology, the promotion area of 5125 acres, the output value of 55.21 million yuan, the profit of 20.48 million yuan, It provides a theoretical basis and practical experience for the vast number of blue crab breeding areas inside and outside the province, and this technology is at the leading level in China and has won the third prize of provincial scientific and technological progress. The project "Research and Application of Key Technologies for Artificial Breeding and Breeding of Green Crab and Germplasm Resource Development" completed in cooperation with the East China Sea Fisheries Research Institute has promoted 61,300 mu of artificial seedlings in Shanghai, Zhejiang and other places, with a total promotion of 239,300 mu and a total output value of 1.3 billion yuan. The technology is at the international advanced level and has won the second prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award.

After years of dedicated research and promotion of marine aquaculture technology, Ding Lifa can really be described as "like a fish in the water". He presided over the "Research on Productive Seedling and Intermediate Breeding Technology of Clams", and the stable production technology formed was promoted in the province, and the self-sufficiency of clam seedlings was realized. It is leading in China and has won the third prize of provincial scientific and technological progress. The completed "Research and Demonstration Breeding of Productive Seedling Technology of Large Mudskipper Fish" is at the leading level in China, has been widely promoted and applied, and won the third prize of provincial scientific and technological progress. He presided over the major special project "Research and Demonstration of Shrimp and Fish And Shellfish Polyculture Model in Marine Ponds and Its Integrated Supporting Technology", studied and mastered the key technologies of various types of marine ponds to increase efficiency and quality, and established five ecological and efficient breeding models such as shrimp and crab shellfish, green crab ridge tail white shrimp, and coca-gram cyst worm. The overall level has reached the domestic advanced.

How to popularize these advanced technologies and benefit more farmers is Ding Lifa's strongest desire. To this end, he has edited and directed 13 aquaculture television science and education films for the provincial television station, published more than 80 papers in core journals, and participated in the editing of 5 training books. Formulate 1 aquatic industry standard and 1 provincial and local standard. As early as 2010, the Ding Lifa Fishery Master Studio was established, which trained a number of young technical backbones for the system.

Hard work also reaps rich rewards.
