Zhang Aijia actually wants to go further into the mainland, but it is difficult for her to penetrate into a deeper level from a small age, only to explain it in a flash, the mainland part is still very facial, and the sense of estrangement feels obvious.
Many emotions are intertwined, making "Waking Up" have a little more evocative point in addition to the chaotic plot.
Four years after the film was filmed, another Hong Kong director also filmed a similar theme, telling the story of a young man from the mainland who came to Hong Kong to work and Hong Kong people fell in love, that is, Chen Kexin's "Sweet Honey".
Zhang Aijia's "Waking Up from a Dream" could have become a classic like "Sweet Honey", but she did not know the true face of Lushan Mountain, only because she was in this mountain, and her excessive self-substitution made this movie eventually become mediocre.
