Thanks to the early access opportunity provided by 2K, I got the Chance to test Borderlands 3 early last weekend.
First of all, the game we got this time is the PC version, the platform is epic, limited by the platform, you may be disturbed by some network connections when playing, but in the case of naked connection, in addition to the cloud save function, this will not affect your game experience too much, so you can basically rest assured.
Then let's talk about the focus of the review, my starting profession is the Beast King, due to obsessive-compulsive disorder, I spent about 20 hours on the first three planets, completing each side line and main line and most of the collection tasks. If you are like me, it takes 40-50 hours to pass the visual clearance, and if you do not go straight to the main line without branch lines, it also takes about 20 hours to clear the customs. In terms of overall content, this can be regarded as a rather hearty meal.

If you want to rate Borderlands 3, or talk about whether you like the Borderlands series, there are a few thresholds that you have to ask yourself, do you like this cartoon rendering + exaggerated and playful style? Are you dizzy in first-person 3d games? Do you like brush brush brush? If these three questions are not decided, this game will obviously hinder your interest in getting started, but if you are completely acceptable, congratulations, Borderlands 3 will be the coolest brushing game you have played this year, and even in this generation, it will be the one you will remember vividly.
Coincidentally, I am a person who really likes brush brushes, and does not faint at all, and also especially likes American animation, punk and wasteland. Emotionally, with those few points alone, I wanted to give Borderlands 3 an extra 0.2 points because it seemed tailor-made for me. But that's off-topic.
To explain where Borderlands 3 is fun is, you are actually answering the question "Why is Borderlands 3 cool to play?". This is mainly reflected in the following three aspects:
The first is the artistic style. The most intuitive feeling of the Borderlands series to players is cartoon rendering + wasteland punk, which can be described as unique. Cartoon rendering was a hit a few years ago, but now it's a handful, and probably the best thing to do is Borderlands.
Wasteland punk in the punk category belongs to the subdivision of the branch, talking about wasteland punk, everyone first thinks of will be "Mad Max", in order to show this, the game's characters are difficult to use "beauty" to describe, all of them look strange, with punk heads, with collars or mechanical arms, the face of the hair is the same as overturning the paint can, the girl who plays Lolita on the radio is likely to be different in appearance, is a fat house of more than 200 pounds (such as the mechanic Ellie), the sense of contrast will be particularly strong. Coupled with the frequent amputations in the game, the blood spray bridge section, and the sense of unrestrainedness brought to the player by borderlands, it is difficult to make people feel eye-catching, but obviously in the process will stimulate your adrenal glands, don't care so much, reckless is it.

In addition to the characters, due to the cartoon rendering relationship, all the characters and guns in the game will have a layer of obvious black strokes, this non-realistic setting will not be very stressful for the engine and hardware, but there is no less detail. The loot available in the game has no concept of armor except for supplies, and it is all guns. These hundreds of millions of guns are divided into categories according to different company names, and most of the weapons with different attributes can be directly distinguished from the appearance of the weapons, which is mainly due to the details of the appearance.
For a first-person shooter brush game, the gun in front of you will be the only companion who will accompany you for hundreds of hours without seeing what you look like. The good looks you can do in appearance largely determine whether you will get bored with this game. Judging from the current feelings, Borderlands 3 continues the tradition of the series in this regard, and the performance is still outstanding.

Three vehicles in the game
In addition to being "good-looking", the content of the game must also be fun. The performance of content in the game mainly depends on two aspects, one is the plot and the other is the system.
The main plot for old players, still around the secret collection, the biggest change is that from the single secret of the previous games to a number of secrets, due to the restrictions on the confidentiality clause, it is inconvenient to say more about the development of the subsequent plot, but seeing the return of many classic old characters can always make old fans excited.

Under the influence of the black banter tone of the Masterless series, many of the side quests of "Borderlands 3" have become the icing on the cake, all kinds of nonsensical yellow storm plots, even the traditional revenge missions have become very joyful, inexplicable motives can never guess the follow-up development, with the battle of the explosion, I once wanted to stop. The NPCs that appear in each branch are shaped with flesh and blood and personality, but they are "brainless", and these crazy people just make up the universe of Borderlands 3.

Especially on the second planet, several missions on cyberpunk-style Promethea are extremely exciting, battle royale missions, NPCs locked in the toilet, rescue the kidnapped bride, etc. I believe that when you play these tasks, you will definitely want to find your friends to complain about.
In terms of system, the game currently has 4 new classes, each with three talent trees and corresponding active skills, and the way to add points is very diverse. Since the official website has now opened the talent simulator, so in many Borderlands community I have seen a lot of discussion about points and classes, similar to some traditional brush brush games, the things you need to pay attention to here are actually very simple, that is, how to maximize output, survival means and tactics, and even shooting accuracy does not seem so important. At the end of the day, it's a game that reinforces and highlights it for the sake of being cool.
Beast King: I can't stop as soon as I hit it
After the final game, the game will add a new trial land (similar to the Great Secret Realm), an arena, additional guardian levels, plus three new difficulties, which is a bit thin for players who want to increase the challenge. Compared with some online games, you can increase the final content by continuously adding high-difficulty and high-drop copies, but "Borderlands 3" is still the foundation of the RPG game after all, and after completing the level, the content that players can do is actually very limited, which belongs to the old problem of this series. If the completion process of Borderlands 3 is a journey that can be called a full score, it will make people feel calm after the climax after the final game, and we can only wait for the follow-up dlc, and more tests after the official version is launched.

Again, Borderlands 3 surprised me the most, and what I want to say the most, the most important thing to give the game is the Chinese voice of the game.
To be honest, before playing Borderlands 3, I had a completely dispensable view of whether the game had Chinese voice, first, because the previous Chinese dubbing was difficult to satisfy, and second, the original Japanese (English) dubbing was complete enough, so Chinese voice was often seen as a snake.
But after experiencing the immersion that Borderlands 3 brought to me throughout Chinese dubbing, I realized that I was wrong.
2k's efforts in game localization this time are obvious to all, and the selling point of Chinese dubbing has also been promoted separately for a long time, in fact, after the hand, the Henan Zhengzhou Zhongcheng Jiayin Studio responsible for dubbing has performed very well. Chinese dubbing is good or not, one is that it cannot be read well, it must reflect the context and character of the time, and the other is whether the words can be more grounded, easy to understand and in line with the word habits in our lives. In Borderlands 3, I can't say that the voices of each character are impeccable, but the voices of several main characters, such as Vaughan, Little Noisy, Marcus, and Ellie, are memorable.
Vaughn, in particular, is a crazy character who did laugh when you rescued him and he yelled at you, "Scarlet Raider Bull." It is rare for such a dedicated, and very colloquial voice to emerge in the game, and it is rare to achieve the same level, which also allows players to have more hope for future games Chinese voice. That's why I had to give Borderlands 3 a high score for Chinese voice.
At the end of the review, of course, it is not uncommon to talk about some shortcomings of "Borderlands 3". A friend asked me before, is Borderlands 3 a fully evolved game? I think it is inappropriate to use the term "full evolution", this aspect is because its previous game has performed very well, rather than how to innovate the icing on the cake, the new work is more important to capture the essence of the series, and bring an extra freshness, which is easy to say, but it is not simple to do well, there are many sequels to classic games that are planted here, or do not grasp the reason why players like to play your game, or the newly added content is cumbersome, free from the game. The performance of Borderlands 3 this time has proved that developers understand where their strengths are and can please players.
On the other hand, "Borderlands 3" is limited by its own theme and setting, and there are still some problems that cannot be avoided, such as the "soul three questions" mentioned in the opening paragraph that affect your hands,and the randomly generated guns are eliminated too quickly, and the randomness is too much, which will greatly weaken your sense of achievement, while prolonging your play time, and the open world map is getting bigger and bigger, but it lacks clear guidance, often getting lost, and running itself is not a happy thing.

In general, "Borderlands 3" is indeed worthy of the expectations of players, it may not have a deep connotation, but "refreshing" is so direct.
