It was learned from the Tianjin Municipal Commission for Market Supervision and Administration that according to the deployment of the State Administration for Market Supervision and Administration's "2019 Food Safety Sampling Plan", the Commission recently sampled four major categories of food, edible agricultural products, tea and related products, canned food, and dairy products, with a total of 257 batches of samples, and 8 batches of unqualified.

It is reported that for the unqualified products found in the sampling inspection, the Market Supervision Bureau of Beichen District, Dongli District, Binhai New Area, Jinnan District, Jizhou District and Hebei District in the jurisdiction of the enterprise has ordered the production operators to take measures such as removal and recall in a timely manner in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China. The Municipal Market Supervision Commission requires the above-mentioned district bureaus to further investigate and deal with the production and operation enterprises of unqualified products, find out the batch, quantity and reasons for the production of unqualified products, and formulate rectification measures.

The sampled units, nominal production enterprises, products and unqualified indicators involved in unqualified samples are:

1. Grass carp (freshwater fish) sold by Tianjin Yonghui Supermarket Co., Ltd. Shuangjie Branch, malachite green does not meet the national food safety standards;

Malachite green

Malachite green is a toxic triphenylmethane chemical that is both a dye and a drug that kills fungi, bacteria and parasites. The Maximum Residue Limit of Veterinary Drugs in Animal Foods (Announcement No. 235 of the Ministry of Agriculture) stipulates that malachite green is a prohibited drug and shall not be detected in animal foods. Long-term consumption of foods containing malachite green may be harmful to human health.

2. The blackfish sold by xupu aquatic products business department in Dongli District, Tianjin City, dixipan does not meet the national food safety standards;

3. The crucian carp, carp and diazepam sold by Wang Lifu do not meet the national food safety standards;

diazepam

Diazepam, also known as diazepam, is a sedative drug, mainly used for anxiety, sedative hypnosis, and can also be used for anti-epileptic and anticonvulsant. The Maximum Residue Limit of Veterinary Drugs in Animal Foods (Announcement No. 235 of the Ministry of Agriculture) stipulates that diazepam shall not be detected in animal foods. Diazepam can reduce the perception of the outside world by fresh fish, reduce metabolism, and ensure that it is still alive after transportation, but diazepam remains permanent in the fish, and it can be transmitted to humans through the food chain. Diazepam exceeding a certain dose will cause drowsiness and fatigue, motor disorders, mental confusion, etc., and in severe cases, there will be symptoms such as arrhythmias and coma.

4. The squid supplied by the Tianjin Luojia Aquatic Products Business Department sold by the Yi Chunxiang Aquatic Products Business Department of Tianjin Binhai New Area does not meet the national food safety standards;

cadmium

Cadmium (in cd terms) is one of the most common pollutants of heavy metal elements. The National Standard for Food Safety (GB 2762-2017) stipulates that cadmium (in cd) has a maximum limit of 2.0mg/kg in bivalves, gastropods, cephalopods and echinoderms of fresh and frozen aquatic animals. Excess cadmium (in cd) in aquatic products may be the enrichment of cadmium in the environment during aquatic product farming. The harm of cadmium to the human body is mainly chronic accumulation, and long-term large intake of foods with excessive cadmium content may lead to kidney and bone damage.

In addition to fish, the following canned products do not meet national standards for food safety:

5. The canned chestnuts (other cans) produced by The nominal Tianjin Jixian Fuxing Food Factory sold by Tianjin Dejufu Sideline Food And Seasonings Co., Ltd., the residual amount of sulfur dioxide and disodium edta, which do not meet the national standards for food safety;

6. Tianjin Dejufu Sideline Food Seasonings Trading Company sold canned almonds (other cans), dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salt (in terms of dehydroacetic acid), benzoic acid and its sodium salt (in terms of benzoic acid), sorbic acid and its potassium salt (in terms of sorbic acid) sold by Tianjin Dejufu Vice Food Seasonings Trading Company do not meet the national standards for food safety;

7. The whole sweet corn (canned vegetables) produced by Tianjin Jiayujia Food Factory, the residual amount of sulfur dioxide, sorbic acid and its potassium salt (in terms of sorbic acid) sold by the canned food business department of Tianjin Zhao Tietao does not meet the national standards for food safety.

benzoic acid

Benzoic acid and its sodium salt (in terms of benzoic acid) are commonly used preservatives. Benzoic acid and its sodium salt (in terms of benzoic acid) are of high safety, a small amount of benzoic acid is not toxic to the human body, can be excreted with urine, and will not accumulate in the human body. The National Standard for Food Safety and the Standard for the Use of Food Additives (GB 2760-2014) stipulates that benzoic acid and its sodium salt (in terms of benzoic acid) shall not be used in cans. The reason for the unqualified benzoic acid and its sodium salt (in terms of benzoic acid) is mainly due to the fact that the enterprise organizes production in order to extend the shelf life of the product or does not strictly follow the standard. If the long-term excessive intake of benzoic acid, to a certain extent, it will damage the human nervous system and cause harm to the kidneys and liver of the human body.

Yamanashi acid

Sorbic acid is a preservative commonly used in food additives, which can effectively inhibit the growth and reproduction of microorganisms and prevent food spoilage. Its non-conformity is mainly due to the fact that the enterprise organizes production in order to extend the shelf life of the product or does not strictly follow the standard. If the long-term excessive intake of sorbic acid, to a certain extent, will damage the human nervous system, and cause harm to the human kidneys, liver.

Dehydroacetic acid

Dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salts, as a broad-spectrum food preservative, have low toxicity and are safe and reliable to use according to the range and amount of use specified in the standard.

The reason for the excessive dehydroacetic acid may be that individual enterprises have used the additive in excess to prevent food spoilage, or the compound additive used has a high content of the additive; it may also be that it is not measured or the measurement is inaccurate during the addition process.

sulfur dioxide

Sulfur dioxide is a commonly used bleach and preservative in food processing, which is eventually converted into sulfate after entering the human body and excreted with urine. A small amount of sulfur dioxide entering the human body will not bring health hazards to the body, but if excessive consumption will cause gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea and vomiting.

The reason why sulfur dioxide does not meet the standard may be that individual producers use inferior raw materials to reduce costs, and then use sulfur dioxide in excess in order to improve the color of the product; it may also be that it is not measured or measured inaccurately; or it may be that the sulfur dioxide fumigation or addition is illegal in order to increase the shelf life of the spice and prevent mold from growing insects.

Disodium edta

Disodium EDTA is widely used as a food additive as a stabilizer, antioxidant, preservative, chelating agent to prevent discoloration, deterioration, turbidity and oxidative loss of vitamins caused by metal ions. Disodium EDTA can have a stimulating effect on the mucous membranes, upper respiratory tract and on the eyes and skin. Long-term consumption of disodium EDTA products may have a certain impact on human health.
