Hong Chengzu has always had different theories about why he descended to Qing, especially many people feel that some of the stories have been widely spread, mainly because some people pointed out that Hong Chengzu was seduced by Concubine Zhuang and finally chose to surrender. I am afraid that this statement is too strange and difficult to be convincing, so a new theory has been derived, that is, Hong Chengzu was moved by the Emperor Taiji and chose to descend to Qing. These words probably mean that Hong Chengyu originally did not want to surrender, but because of some stories, he had to choose.
It is really strange to say that Concubine Zhuang seduced Hong Chengzu, because no matter what, Concubine Zhuang was the concubine of Emperor Taiji, and in order to persuade Hong Chengzuo to surrender, Emperor Taiji gave up his concubines. And it is also strange to say that Hong Chengzu was moved by Emperor Taiji and chose to surrender, because people who originally insisted on not surrendering were so easily moved?

In fact, Hong Chengzuo was only too full of words before, so if he directly chose to surrender after being captured, I am afraid that he would become a laughing stock. So it was a twist and turn, and it was only a long time before it was officially surrendered. That is to say, after Hong Chengyu was captured, he already had the intention of surrendering, but he just waited for the opportunity to make himself comfortable.
There is a very classic story that is for "the lord wants to accept the domain for use, and the fate of Fan Wencheng is surrendered." Chengzuo Fangke insults, Wencheng Xu and language, pan and modern and ancient events, the dust between the beams occasionally falls, wearing the domain clothes, the domain is whisked away. Wen Cheng returned home and told him: 'If you promise the domain, you will not die, but you will regret your clothes, but what about your body?' ’”。 (Quoted from the Draft History of the Qing Dynasty, Liechuan XXIV)
If Hong Chengyu really regarded death as a homecoming, why did he care so much about the ash that fell on him? Obviously, all he needed was a step down the stairs. The follow-up Emperor Taiji had a good attitude towards Hong Chengzuo, and often came to see it, so that the face was also there, so it was logical that Hong Chengzu's surrender would be logical.
Therefore, Shang Zi looked at himself and untied the imperial sable coat, saying, "Sir, do you have any chills?" Chengzu looked at him for a long time and sighed, "True Destiny Lord also!" "Bow your head and bow down." (Quoted from the "Qing History Manuscript : Liechuan XXIV") In this way, Hong Chengzu completed the surrender process to the Qing Dynasty. Obviously, Hong Chengyu was not a person loyal to the Ming Dynasty, and of course Chongzhen's operations could not make these bureaucrats die for him. However, the matter of erecting the archway, Hong Chengyu did something a bit excessive. Either he surrendered directly, or he cut himself off, saying that he would never surrender, and at the same time he surrendered, and let Chongzhen still make a sacrifice in Beijing, which was too disgraceful.
Therefore, when Hong Chengzu followed Duo Duo and others into Jiangnan, he encountered a lot of resistance, and Hong Chengzu was responsible for arresting these people and persuading them to surrender. A more famous example is naturally that after Xia Wanchun was arrested, he said that the person in the hall was not Hong Chengzu, because the real Hong Chengzu had been martyred, in order to satirize Hong Chengzu. I believe that at this time, Hong Chengyu probably has some feelings that are not as good as drilling into the cracks in the ground.
That is, after the Qing army entered the customs, Hong Chengyu gradually became a laughing stock, not only the old and young widows of the Ming Dynasty, but also all those who knew at that time. During the Qianlong period, many years after Hong Chengzu was humiliated again, there is no need to say more.
