Guangzhou Xiguan Yongqingfang Conference Center recently held the 2021 Cantonese Art Lecture Hall Series Of Cultural Lectures (Lecture 3) "Injecting Fresh Blood into Chinese Culture" - Kunqu Chao Lecture, which was hosted by the Liwan District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, the Liwan District Federation of Literature and Art Circles, the Liwan District Cultural Center, the Guangzhou Character Citizen Liwan Space, the Liwan District Cantonese Opera QuYi Association, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Drama Association. The lecture specially invited Li Huiyin, a representative of Macao Outstanding Youth, a doctor of communication studies and the president of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Drama Association, as the keynote speaker, to introduce the artistic charm of Kunqu opera to the audience on site and online, tell the aesthetic conception of Kunqu opera, and explain the new development trend of Kunqu opera combining with the times from an international perspective.

Guests attending the event included Xie Deming, director of the Liwan District Cultural Center, He Che, chairman of the Liwan District Cantonese Opera And Art Association and Guangfu cultural scholar, Zhou Lishan, part-time vice chairman of the Liwan District Literary Association, Sheng Gefuyi, director of the Beijing Cao Society and head of the Guangzhou Branch of the Dream of the Red Chamber Lovers Alliance, Wang Jia, director of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Drama Association and a professional makeup artist in Beijing-Kunming, and Zhou Feilong, Wan Gang and Liu Lanxin, kunqu lovers.
Li Huiyin is an authentic Miss Xiguan, who grew up in Xiguan and felt the rich regional humanistic customs and folk culture of Xiguan, and then she went to Macao to live, study and work. As a Ph.D. in Communication studies at Macau University of Science and Technology, Lee is committed to spreading Macau's culture.
Lee Ish Yeon is the Chairman of the Macau Region of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Federation. As a young person in Macao, while feeling that Macao is now full of unlimited opportunities and possibilities, she is also looking forward to the development of the Greater Bay Area to be better and better, opening up a broader space for youth employment and entrepreneurship in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Feeling the mutual integration and collision of Chinese and Western cultures, she stimulated her love and pursuit of traditional culture in her growth.
By chance, Li Huiyin experienced the beauty of Kunqu art, was attracted by it, and began her dream-chasing journey. Li Huiyin studied under the famous Nanjing opera artist Qiu Caiping, and then joined the Kunqu opera artist and plum blossom award winner Xing Jinshamen, and after eight years of hard training, became the first person in Macao to appear on the CCTV Opera Spring Festival Gala.
Li Huiyin is also the editor-in-chief of Fashion Media and the vice president of the Greater Bay Area Youth Federation. This time, I returned to my birthplace to give a cultural lecture, hoping to use the most popular audience concept to bring Kunqu art to communicate with Xiguan neighborhoods, subtly, and inject the life aesthetics of Kunqu.
Deconstruct the classic masterpieces of Kunqu opera from the perspective of the new generation
Mr. Bai Xianyong once said: "Kunqu opera is the most beautiful form to express the deepest feelings of Chinese." Li Huiyin believes that the Kunqu opera stage emphasizes artistic conception, blank space and aesthetic beauty, one cavity and one rhyme, and beautiful body, all of which present the most traditional culture and connotation of Chinese.
At the lecture, Li Huiyin deconstructed the details and dialogue in the classic representative works of Kunqu Opera, "Jade Hairpin" and "Peony Pavilion" from the perspective of the new generation. At the same time, she invited her friends, Zhou Feilong, Wang Jia and Wan Gang, directors of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Drama Association, to share kunqu costume headdresses, interpreting the kunqu opera "Peony Pavilion" "Dream of Visiting the Garden", "Jade Hairpin" and other excerpts, leading people into the art world of Kunqu.
The integrity and innovation of Kunqu opera is a hot spot of public concern, and in the lecture, Li Huiyin shared the Macao Light and Shadow World Heritage Edition of Kunqu Opera "Peony Pavilion". This is a cross-border attempt by her as the main creator, Macao Kunqu opera artists and light and shadow stage artists, combined with traditional classic Kunqu opera, to create a new Macao light and shadow world heritage version of "Peony Pavilion" Kunqu opera, on the one hand, with Tang Xianzu's Macao behavior as a story line, on the other hand, with the classic story of "Peony Pavilion" itself, combined with traditional Chinese art with science and technology, to bring the audience a new Kunqu opera performance experience with Macao characteristics, blending Chinese and Western cultures.
It is understood that on November 27th, the Cantonese Art Lecture Hall will usher in the fourth lecture, by the famous Cantonese opera singing artist, the provincial inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage of Cantonese opera, the national first-class actor Liang Yurong to share the "Qu contemporary, art for the people" - my artistic life lecture, telling the creation process of the Quyi musical "Little Star".
