Feng Guozhang: Feng Gong's grandfather, Yuan Shikai's confidant, later opposed the emperor and opposed him

We know that Feng Gong is a famous cross-talk actor in China, and many people think that he comes from a cross-talk family.

In fact, his origin is very cattle, because his grandfather is Feng Guozhang, who was famous in the Beiyang period.

Feng Guozhang was born in Hejian County, Hebei Province, to a broken family.

In order to make a living, Feng Guozhang joined the army when he was young, and because of his good performance, he later entered the Tianjin Wubei Academy to study.

Whether in the military academy or on the battlefield, Feng Guozhang showed superb military talent.

Gradually, he entered Yuan Shikai's field of vision and became his confidant.

In the early years of the Republic of China, he had become a general of Xuanwu, supervising the military affairs of Jiangsu, dominating the southeast, and becoming a military general with heavy troops.

However, during Yuan Shikai's imperial movement, he opposed Yuan Shikai and accelerated the collapse of the imperial system.

At that time, Yuan Shikai's traitorous behavior of satisfying Japan's "Twenty-One Articles" won Japan's support for his claim to the title of emperor, so the public opinion that Yuan Shikai wanted to restore the imperial system did not shy away.

At this moment, Feng Guozhang rushed to Beijing to ask Yuan Yuan in a furious manner, wanting to inquire about some inside information.

Carefully calculated, Feng Guozhang and Yuan Shikai, both public and private, have a very good relationship.

Feng Guozhang's second-wife is Zhou Zhen, the tutor teacher of Yuan Shikai's daughters, and is yuan shikai's matchmaker.

When Zhou Ling got married, the Yuan family bore all the dowries and accompanied an old mother, and the Yuan family was solemnly escorted to Nanjing to marry Feng Guozhang.

Since then, the daughters of the Yuan family have called Zhou Li the "fourth sister" and Feng Guozhang the "fourth brother-in-law".

Zhou Li also regarded the Yuan family as her mother's family and often moved around.

Therefore, Feng Guozhang felt that Yuan Shikai would tell him the truth about public and private.

In fact, Yuan Shikai already had a heart for him.

Because Feng Guozhang had been stationed in Nanjing for a long time, he was like a fan town, and he was gradually not as obedient as in the past.

Therefore, Yuan Shikai played a double reed play.

At that time, Feng Guozhang asked him: "According to foreign legends, if the great president wants to change the imperial system, please give a secret instruction in advance so that he can start making arrangements in the local area." Yuan Shikai pretended to be very aggrieved and said: "HuaFu (Feng Guozhang's word), you and I have worked together for many years, and we love the same family, I may as well explain my thoughts to you." I have no idea of being an emperor. Our Yuan family has never lived to be sixty years old, I am fifty-eight years old this year, even if I am an emperor, how many years can I do? Moreover, the emperor passed on his son, my eldest son Ke Ding was crippled and six incomplete; the second son Ke Wen was a pseudonymous scholar, who fooled around with a group of absurd literati all day long; and the third son Ke Liang was a bandit and did not reach the level of knowledge. Which one can inherit the great cause? You can rest assured. ”

Feng Guozhang said, "Yes! It seems that the outside world does not understand the heart of the president. However, in the future, China will turn weak into strong, and when the time comes for heaven and people to return, although the president is humble and condescending, I am afraid that he will not be able to push it. ”

Yuan Shikai suddenly changed color: "What words! I have a child studying in London, and I have asked him to buy a thin property there, and if someone presses me again, I will make it my coat and never worry about state affairs again. ”

Yuan Shikai's performance made Feng Guozhang convinced.

When the imperial system was made public, Feng Guozhang woke up from a big dream and found himself in Yuan Shikai's deception, so he scolded: "Well, Lao Tzu really can make a play, where else do they still regard us as their own."

He realized that he was no longer trusted by Yuan Shikai.

Feng Guozhang began to worry, if Yuan Shikai really became emperor, his current position would be difficult to protect.

Since then, his attitude towards Yuan Shikai has changed.

In Jiangsu, inspector Qi Yaolin was ordered by Beijing to appoint sixty people as representatives of the reform of the state system and support for Yuan Dang, but Feng Guozhang explicitly ordered the personnel of the military bureau not to be represented and not to participate in the activities.

When Cai Yi raised an army in Yunnan, Feng Guozhang did not move and did not help Yuan at all.

Moreover, he also secretly colluded with the Jiangxi general Li Chun, the Shandong general Xin Yunpeng, the Zhejiang general Zhu Rui, and the Yangtze River patrol envoy Zhang Xun, and secretly telegraphed Shikai to "quickly abolish the imperial system to reassure the people."

Yuan Shikai received a "secret telegram from the Five Generals" and said to neishi XiaShoutuan, "It's over!" It's all over! ”

On March 22, 1916, Yuan Shikai finally ordered the abolition of the imperial system in his internal and external affairs, and the HongXiannian name was maintained for only 83 days.

Although Yuan Shikai abolished the imperial system, the defending army did not give up and established a military council to ask Yuan Shikai to step down.

Yuan Shikai, who was unwilling to withdraw from the presidency, hurriedly sent Ruan Zhongshu to Feng Guozhang, hoping that he would intervene to mediate the relations between the Beiyang government and the independent southern provinces and military affairs, so that he could spin from the middle and maintain his presidential status.

However, at this time, Feng Guozhang knew that Yuan Shikai had already rebelled and left, and the general trend had gone, and he did not want to fight for him anymore.

He even sent troops to force Yuan Shikai to hand over the presidency.

In a secret telegram to Yuan, he said: "The Southern Army has very luxurious hopes, and just abolishing the imperial system is not enough to convince its heart."

He hoped that Yuan Shikai would "urgently raise a strategy for self-improvement."

Feng Guozhang's anti-gaze was a great blow to Yuan Shikai.

On June 6, 1916, Yuan Shikai finally died in grief.
