He was the deputy head of the regiment after the reorganization of Sanwan, and made great contributions to the Jinggangshan base area, but unfortunately died early

The autumn harvest uprising does not need to be repeated on the historical significance of our party and our army, and Chairman Mao is naturally the core leader of the autumn harvest uprising, but it is far from enough for Chairman Mao alone in an uprising, and he also needs a number of outstanding generals, one of whom can be established as a typical vanguard general, whose name is Yu Benmin.

Yu Benmin graduated from the Hunan 49 Biao Military Academy, became a company commander, and also participated in the Xinhai Revolution, but because he was wounded in battle, he chose to retire from the army and became a civilian.

However, after retiring from the army, Yu Benmin still paid attention to the major affairs of the country, and he wanted to repay the motherland in the way he could do it, so he went to the Guangzhou Peasant Movement Training Institute in 1926 to study, and it was here that he met Chairman Mao and Zhou Enlai and others, and Yu Benmin began to come into contact with Marxism and began to realize that the Communist Party was the party that really made decisions for the people, so he began to often go to the lecture center to listen to lectures.

However, after Chiang Kai-shek launched a counter-revolutionary coup, such lectures were banned and suppressed, and even many practitioners were arrested and even killed. In this critical situation, Yu Benmin simply took the whole family with him to participate in the revolution, and Chairman Mao welcomed Yu Benmin very much, and he personally served as the introduction of Yu Benmin to the party.

As Chiang Kai-shek and Wang Jingwei's persecution of our Party became more and more severe, the Nanchang Uprising broke out under the intolerable situation, and on September 9 of the same year, Chairman Mao launched the famous Autumn Harvest Uprising, when Yu Benmin was the deputy commander of the First Division of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army, and also served as the vanguard of the Autumn Harvest Uprising.

Originally, the uprising was very smooth, but when attacking Changsha, there were traitors within our army, and the betrayal of qiu Guoxuan, the former general of the revolutionary army, caused our army to suffer heavy losses, so Chairman Mao ordered the transfer to Jinggangshan, and in the process of transfer, Yu Benmin has been helping Chairman Mao to govern the army, and at this time Yu Benmin was already Chairman Mao's confidant.

After arriving at Jinggangshan, the troops were downsized, and the original three regiments were organized into one regiment, with Chen Hao as the regimental commander and Yu Benmin as the deputy regimental commander. Later, Chen Hao's defection to the enemy was discovered and shot, and Yu Benmin became chairman Mao's most important assistant, and he also made great contributions to the creation of the Jinggangshan base area.

Unfortunately, however, Yu was wounded in a battle in December 1932, and due to medical conditions, Yu's wound infection worsened, and eventually Yu died at the age of 45 at the Xiaoyuan Red Army Hospital in Wanzai County, Jiangxi Province.
