Source is eupolyphaga sinensis walk. or Jidi turtle plancyi (bol.) [polyphaga plancyi bol.] The females dry the whole.
Original form 1, the turtle body is flat and round, cover-shaped, black with luster, hermaphroditism, male insects have wings, female insects have wings. The female is about 3 cm long. The head is small and the antennae are filamentous. The abdomen has 9 transverse links, the ventral surface is dark brown, and the chest and feet have fine hairs and many thorns. The medicinal material is brittle, easy to break, and the foot has fallen off. There is a gray-black substance in the abdomen. It stinks.
It grows in wet and shady places and loose soils in the corners of the walls, and is distributed throughout the country.
2. The shape of the turtle is similar to that of the turtle, oval in shape, and the female is 3.0 to 3.6 cm long. The body is dark brown and dull. There is a small black, round black spot on each side of each segment of the thorax and abdomen.

Cultivation likes to live in wet loose soil, afraid of the sun, day and night. The end of winter and early spring are hibernating periods. The strongest breeding is in summer and autumn.
Small-scale breeding, you can dig an urn-shaped hole indoors, the mouth is small and large, about 3 feet deep (such as moisture to dig shallower), the wall should be smooth, the inner relaxation soil is 1 foot deep or more, and the mouth is covered with a lid to prevent the soil turtles from escaping. It is better to bury the bottom of the urn in the soil as a feeding pond.
Large-scale rearing, in which larger triangular or square rearing ponds are built indoors. Dig about 1 foot deep (if the ground is dry, you can dig deeper), surrounded by a solid brick wall, the wall is 1.5 feet above the ground, with wooden sticks on it, sealed with clay (it is better to add lime), leaving 1 to 2 holes in the middle. The bottom of the pond is covered with loose soil and grass clippings, (the humidity of the loose soil is preferably wet by hand kneading).
Feed: Do not eat during hibernation, and start feeding in the spring when the climate warms up and resumes activities. The main feed is rice bran, wheat bran, crushed bean cake and so on. In the evening, when the turtles come out to move, the feed is evenly sprinkled on the surface of the loose soil and eaten every 3 to 4 days. In the hot summer, sprinkle water every 3 to 4 days, and feed succulent feed, such as pumpkin, green leaves, rotten fruit, peeled pumpkin fragments, etc. to replenish the moisture required by the insect body.

Note There is a "phnom penh earth turtle" for the cockroach family Akabean (Oriental posterior cockroach) opisthoplatia orientalis burmister, slightly longer than the earth turtle, purple-black and shiny, with a red edge in the lower half of the back and yellow gold edge in the upper half of the circle. It is mostly born under the corners of shady walls. The main products are Fujian, Hubei, Guangdong, Guangxi and other provinces and regions.
In addition, there is another type of dragon lice, also known as water turtle worm, for the dragon and phoenix family oriental lice cybister tripunctatus orientalis gschwendtn. The body of the insect is flattened and long ovate, slightly raised in the center, narrow in front and wide in the back, and no more than 3 cm long. The back is dark green , some are darker , the ventral surface is black or blackish red , and sometimes partly brownish-yellow.
