There were 14 live scorpions hidden in the incoming mail

Recently, when the customs officer of the Qingdao Post Office inspected the incoming mail, he found that a mail machine inspection image named "personal belongings" was suspicious, and after opening the box for inspection, 14 plastic storage boxes were found in the mail, containing live animal scorpions, and the on-site inventory confirmed that 14 were confirmed. After preliminary identification, the scorpion seized this time is the African yellow-clawed scorpion.

It is understood that the African yellow-clawed scorpion inhabits tropical arid deserts, mainly distributed in southern and eastern Africa, the scorpion body is large, and the adult scorpion body is about 11-15 cm long, with strong toxicity.

According to the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Quarantine of Animals and Plants Entering and Leaving the Country and relevant regulations, live insects are prohibited from being mailed into the country and are not allowed to enter the country by mail or carry without quarantine approval.

At present, the customs has implemented quarantine treatment of the mail.
