Liu Dawei, who has worked in the former State Education Commission and the Ministry of Education for more than 30 years, has recently taken up his new post.

On September 3, The Paper (www.thepaper.cn) browsed the "Bureau Leaders" column of the official website of the China Foreign Languages Publishing and Distribution Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the "CIPG") and noted that Liu Dawei, who had previously served as a member of the party group and assistant minister of the Ministry of Education, had been appointed deputy director of CIPG in August 2018.

According to the official resume, Liu Dawei was born in Qianguo, Jilin province in June 1964, began his career in July 1987, joined the Communist Party of China in December 1984, and graduated from Nankai University in December 2006 with a postgraduate degree and a doctorate in law from the Zhou Enlai School of Government and Management.

Since July 1987, Liu Dawei has served as the deputy director of the Office of the Planning and Construction Department of the Former State Education Commission, the deputy director of the College Establishment Department, the director of the Planning Department of the Development Planning Department of the Ministry of Education, the deputy director of the Department of Students in Colleges and Universities, the director of the National Center for Student Information Consultation and Career Guidance in Colleges and Universities, the deputy director of the General Office and the director of the Inspection Office, the director of the General Office, and the director of the Personnel Department.

In May 2017, Liu Dawei was appointed as a member of the Party Group of the Ministry of Education, assistant minister, and director of the Personnel Department, and in March this year, he ceased to concurrently serve as the director of the Personnel Department.

Previously, Zhang Fuhai, director of CIPG, was transferred to the Standing Committee of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and director of the Propaganda Department in May this year. At present, the members of the bureau's leadership team include: Deputy Director Fang Zhenghui, Lu Cairong, Wang Gangyi and Liu Dawei.
