Liu Dawei, born in 1945, his ancestral home is Zhucheng, Shandong. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Inner Mongolia Normal University in 1968. He is currently a professor and director of the Fine Arts Department of the PEOPLE's Liberation Army Academy of Arts, vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, chairman of the China Artists Association, chairman of the International Association of Plastic Artists affiliated to UNESCO, and member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He is an honorary member of the 10th China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
