The U.S. Department of State issues the first X-gender passport with a voice from the owner

The U.S. State Department said wednesday (27th) that the U.S. has issued the first U.S. passport with an "x" gender mark, recognizing the rights of people who are not male or female.

According to State Department spokesman Price, the department will be able to offer the option to all passport applicants after completing the update of its systems and forms in early 2022. The department said it was working with other government agencies to "ensure that the travel experience for all passport holders is as smooth as possible, regardless of gender."
