Three-toed kingfisher (scientific name: ceyx erithaca): very small in size, 14 cm in length, weighing 14-20 in males and 14-16 in females. It is a small forest kingfisher with a very bright color. The neck is orange-red; the shoulder feathers are grayish brown, with dark blue feathers at the ends of the feathers; the upper back is dark blue; the lower back, waist, and tail feathers are orange-red, except for the tail feathers, the other parts are purple-red in the center and reflective.

It is found in Taiwan, Guangxi, Yunnan, Hainan, and Southeast Asian countries.
It inhabits evergreen broad-leaved forests below 1500 m above sea level On the banks of streams and rivers, it is a typical interstudent stream bird. The main food is insects, locusts, flies and spiders, but also eats a variety of aquatic animals such as water beetles, small crabs, frogs and small fish.
Breeding occurs in Sri Lanka from June, in southwest India from July to September, in northeast India in April and May, in Malaysia in May, in Java from December to May, in Sumatra is in March. Nests on earth cliffs or embankments of rivers, and uses their mouths to dig tunnel-like caves to make nests.
